White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest recently declared that the Obama administration had improved global “tranquility” in a number of areas. This happened despite recent clashes including the Israel- Hamas conflict, the Ukraine situation, the rise of an Islamic caliphate state, and more.
Ed Henry of Fox News questioned Earnest: “How does the White House react to the notion that the president is a bystander to all these crises?”
“I think that there have been a number of situations in which you’ve seen this administration intervene in a meaningful way, that has substantially furthered American interests and substantially improved the, uh, you know, the – the tranquility of the global community.”
ABC News’ Jon Karl pointed to an Eric Holder comment describing the terrorist potential from the Syrian conflict, and then mentioned the conflicts in Israel, Syria, Iraq, Ukraine, and the South China Sea.
He said, “It doesn’t seem like a time to be touting tranquility on the international scene.”
Has the Obama administration improved global tranquility or is the globe worse off due to Obama? Feel free to share what you think.
