Fox News’ Neil Cavuto was talking to Border Patrol Agent Chris Cabrera about the recent video of a Border Patrol Agent’s comment that citizenship now seems to be irrelevant at U.S. border crossings.
Morale is at an all-time low right now.
Cabrera told Cavuto that one reason for the low morale is that agents are “not allowed to do the job that they were hired to do.” Agents are releasing more and more people out the door rather than detaining them. They don’t have the space to house all the immigrants. The decision to release these people into the United States comes from I.C.E.
Cabrera revealed that criminals and gang members from Central America are using “a loophole” to stay in the country. Unaccompanied minors are allowed to stay in the country and usually end up staying in the U.S. if they have family in the United States or say they have none back home.
Nine times out of ten they don’t go back to their home country.
“Even if he is a confirmed gang member, a confirmed criminal, even by self-admission, we, for some reason, we don’t send them back to their home country. We release them into our country,” Cabrera said.
