John McCain (R-AZ) gave a passionate speech on the Senate floor on the emerging crisis in Iraq, saying that the political decision to pull our troops out of the region has left it wide open for the ISIS terrorist group to take over one-third of the Iraqi territory.
Senator McCain said, “It’s time the president got a new security team that knows what it is to succeed in conflict.”
McCain went onto say that just “because the president of the United States declares that a conflict is over does not mean, in the eyes of the enemy, that it’s over.”
The Arizona Senator showed great frustration with the current administration’s decisions in the Middle East when he emphatically said, “I believe that history will judge the president’s leadership with the scorn and disdain that it deserves.”
