About 200 White House staff took a long lunch as they gathered to watch the World Cup game Tuesday, where the U.S. team was to play against Belgium. Soon, the president entered the screening room and began to chant:
“I believe. I believe. I believe that we can win. I believe that we can win…”
Amidst cheers and applause, the entire room joined him in the chant.
Well, despite their passionate “belief,” the U.S. lost to Belgium, 2-1 in overtime.
Unfortunately, as Jimmy Kimmel hilariously pointed out:
“He believed in a lot of things that didn’t quite work out.”
