Rattling off a list of legislation the Senate has to deal with, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) showed clearly that he is appalled by the Supreme Court’s decision that Hobby Lobby has the right, based on their religious freedom, to opt out of government-mandated reproductive services.
It also appeared, like his fellow Democratic commander in chief Obama, that Harry Reid is unaware that there are three separate branches of government and might be confused as to what the Supreme Court does.
“We have so much to address over the coming weeks, Mr. President. Sportsmen’s bill denied, the highway bill, emergency supplemental, manufacturing legislation. We going to do something about the Hobby Lobby legislation, we need to correct.”
Senator Reid, the Senate cannot undue a decision made by the Supreme Court. Unless it wants to circumvent the Constitution–although that hasn’t been a problem for the Democratic Party the last six years.
