Chris Matthews was on “Ronan Farrow Daily” discussing the defeat of Eric Cantor by economics professor David Brat in Virginia’s GOP primary. Farrow asked Matthews if it is “rare to see that kind of brazen intellectualism in populist candidates like this.” Matthews had a surprising answer that started off by saying that “you can’t assume that the liberals are smarter than the conservative professors.” Matthews also said, “This looking down our noses at Tea Party people has got to stop. They have a message. They are as American as any liberal is.” Could it be that Chris Matthews is actually beginning to see that this government is failing its citizens?
