Prior to becoming President of the United States, Barack Obama talked about the many sacrifices that are necessary to be successful in that position.
You have to understand that if you seek that office, you have to be prepared to give your life to it.
He made a pledge to the American people that he would be dedicated to the job.
You give me this office and in turn my fears, doubts, insecurities, foibles, need for sleep, family life, vacations, leisure….is gone.
Yet, he has been criticized for taking many lavish vacations and playing golf at least 184 times since taking office.
That you don’t make that decision unless you are prepared to make that sacrifice, that trade-off, that bargain.
He was acting as though he would not make any mistakes, like his predecessor, because he had already imagined himself making these choices.
Those who make mistakes, I suspect, in the President’s office, make it because they haven’t fully thought through the dimensions of that choice.
It looks like Obama has done exactly the opposite of everything he said during his 2008 campaign.
