A Mexican-born candidate for U.S. Senate said he is considering a lawsuit against the Missouri secretary of state for discrimination because her office forced him to produce a birth certificate but “didn’t make Obama show proof of citizenship” to appear on the ballot.
Hector Maldonado, 38, a self-described “Lincolnian Republican conservative,” is seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Missouri. He was born one of 10 children in Durango, Mexico. His father is a migrant field worker who owns a small hog ranch in Perris, Calif.
During the following July 5 interview with Karen Berka of Branson Radio Live posted on YouTube, Maldonado explains why he thinks his rights were violated when the secretary of state’s office asked for proof of U.S. citizenship when he filed to run for the Senate:
Maldonado, a U.S. Army combat veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, explains on his website that he became a U.S. citizen in 1995. But he said Secretary of State Robin Carnahan sent him a letter in May asking him to produce documentation.
“It said, ‘Hey, you have to prove you’re a citizen.’ I ignored it,” he said. “You know, Obama ignored it, so I figured I could get away with it, too.”

I don't understand why any of the question marks regarding Obama's birth certificate or his true name (Barry Saetoro) is not even mentioned in our wonderful liberal media. I have never seen one mention of any of this on any of the news stations – CNN – FOX, etc. Why is this? If this was a republican regime, this is all we would be hearing about. Sacred Cow? I guess.

NUMBER 1: IF we were to do what you say and never have anyone with a "foreign name" be elected to an office, it would mean that none of us would be elected. You are going overboard with that remark. We are all foreigners to this country–absolutely every single one of us. The key is to either be born here or become a citizen. As for the office of the President of the United States, that's one where you HAVE to be a "BORN" citizen.
I believe that EVERY person running for ANY office in these United States should have to have proof that he/she is a United States Citizen. The person MUST speak English and be "loyal to the United States of America."

Wow! Awesome fella! I am so totally against all the frivolous lawsuits that are the norm today, but I think this one really has merit. I hope he doesn't just think about it, but actually follows through! We have to remember these kinds of people are good at what they do and we can't just take in anything verbiage because it sounds good for the moment.. one good sign to know them is they come from nowhere and deliver a good message now but will change it later …Just like obama.. This was no accident – from what I've been able to find, it was an 'arrangement' with Pelosi – who prepared the convention's candidate selection announcement sent to all Secretaries of State – and missing was the standard sentence stating that the candidate met all legal requirements. The document was faxed to all states (except one making the statement of legal qualifications was sent to CO and HI) It was also Pelosi who 'passed' on the vetting process. This was a long-time orchestrated deal and I bet I can name those responsible, besides Pelosi. It was a done deal long before the election and George Soros is one of the key players.
I’m from California and Debra Bowen is the Secretary of State here and she failed to ask for Obama’s long form birth certificate. It is my understanding she accepted the short form (not really an authentic copy). Had she checked and double checked, Obama would not be President because California has around 58 electorial votes and he would not have received enough to get him over the top. California a very liberal state. The only thing good about it is the weather. It also has the highest sales tax in the whole United States. 8.5% Some areas even higher.

Not a single GOV questioned the phony convention certification that omitted the statement about eligibility. Not a single GOV questioned the lack of credentials such as real birth certificate. I think all states Sec. of State; if they have one, should be sued for not asking Obama for his birth certificate proving whether he was born in this country.

The only thing I am hoping is we vote most or preferably all of the bums out come November and put honest men and women with integrity who will follow the Constitution as they took the oath to do it. Where in the constitution does it say that only an original, long form birth certificate is acceptable for proof of citizenship? Also, since Hawaii does not release long form birth certificates, but only certificates of live birth, than wouldn't everyone born in Hawaii not be considered US citizens?

It is the state in which one is born that proves whether you are a citizen by issuing birth certificates according to state rules. Everyone born in Hawaii has the exact same type of birth certificate as Obama, which is accepted by all agencies including the military–including top secret military clearance. There are soldiers serving in Afghanistan who were born in Hawaii who have the same type of birth certificate. The republican governor of Hawaii has verified the birth certificate. The state department officials have verified the birth certificate. The certificate of birth has been released to the public and to the military, to passport officials, and of course, Fox news. This soldier is a fool and is going to lose his pension and career because he believes idiots like you.
