Harold, Texas started the Guardian Plan back in 2007 to allow teachers to carry concealed weapons. Superintendent David Thweatt says that the school personnel considers themselves the first responders, and they want to be there to protect their children. Of course, they are getting a lot of attention now:

Great move. Now take down those stupid GUN FREE ZONE signs.
Gun-free zones have to be the stupidest idea ever born.
Replace those signs with: "Concealed Carry zone"
Dean isn't it dumb to advertise that nobody is carrying in these zones.An open invitation to thieves to bring weapons knowing this is GUN FREE ZONE.
I believe teachers in todays society should be allowed to carry after they have gone through training plus be trained to shoot and hit the target they are aiming for.
As I am a Texan, I applaud these NON GUN FREE ZONES! I have not been all that happy with Perry in the last couple of years, but in regards to his upholding our RIGHTS to bear and own arms, especially in our schools, this is something I can stand behind him on, totally and without reservations of doubts at all! This is what must be these days, because who else is going to protect the children, if not the teachers and others who are in these places all day long? If only ONE person had had a gun on Friday last, that ONE PERSON could most likely stopped this mad man with one good head shot! I approve and support any school system who impliments this move, having guns ON THE PROPERTY IN THE HANDS OF TRAINED PEOPLE WHO CAN AND WILL USE THEM WHEN CALLED UPON TO DO SO! Those who want “gun free zones” are ASKING TO BE ATTACKED BY ANYONE WHO HAS A MEANS TO DO SO AND THE WILL TO DO SO! I do not see how it helped those children and teachers Friday, to have banned guns from the premisis! Just ONE GUN………..ONE TRAINED SHOOTER !!!!!!!!!!! No, guns are NOT the problem, PEOPLE ARE THE PROBLEM, and this HUGE PROBLEM IS ONLY MADE WORSE BY THE STUPIDITY OF THOSE WHO THINK THAT EVERY CRIMINAL IS GOING TO GIVE UP THEIR WEAPONS! Ignorance is one thing, but STUPIDITY IS A DIFFERENT MATTER ALTOGETHER, AND THIS “GUN FREE” TRIPE, SHIT, HAS GONE FAR ENOUGH! Instead of disarming, ( as a friend said to me the other day) WE NEED TO REARM! AND REARM TO THE TEETH RIGHT DOWN TO THE TONSILS, AS I REPLIED!!!!!!!!! hey, seeks! TTYL!
