He spoke of visiting 57 states. He royally flubbed a toast to Queen Elizabeth II. Now, Barack Obama has made a misstep at the menorah.
Obama celebrated Hanukkah at the White House…just a few days early. At the celebration, attended by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, numerous VIPs, and his new director of Jewish outreach, Obama lit every candle on the menorah.
Of course, lighting on candle each night is the only kosher way to celebrate.
Obama had kind and reverential things to say about the Jewish festival of lights:
It’s a story of right over might, of faith over doubt, of a band of believers who rose up and freed their people and discovered that the oil left in their desecrated temple – which should have lasted only one night – ended up lasting eight. It’s a timeless story. And for 2,000 years, it has given hope to Jews everywhere who are struggling. And today, it reminds us that miracles come in all shapes and sizes.
He added the season is a time of friendship between people, and nations — the perfect time to draw attention to “our unshakeable support and commitment to the security of the nation of Israel.”

His tone was a nice contrast to the short-shrift he usually gives religious holidays, particularly Christian ones. Although he has released presidential proclamations on behalf of holidays like Diwali, Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha, he issued no proclamation for Easter this year.
Rush Limbaugh joked about Obama’s celebration of the holiday taking place early, so the president can get to his vacation. El Rushbo asked if Obama had confused Hanukkah with Kwanzaa, the phony, racist holiday Obama has celebrated with a presidential proclamation in the past.
At least Obama has never screwed up a black nationalist holiday. Yet.

Obama’s inability to honor certain holidays accurately and his complete neglect of Christian holidays is only one thing that bothers me. I, for some reason, seam to be bothered as much or more by the fact that people who respond with comments don’t seam to know hot to spell GOD. Either that or they use all lower case letters or use an _ or something. Maybe they’re afraid to spell the word GOD out. GOD is not only the creator of everything, HE is the one who ordained this nation into existence. It is only proper to show honor and respect to HIM. Spell HIS name out completely and to acknowledge HIM as who HE is, why not use all capital letters or even larger letters. GOD, GOD, GOD, GOD, GOD. Don’t be afraid to spell HIS name out, don’t be afraid to say HIS name, don’t be afraid to give HIM due honor as the supreme being of the universe. Emphasis not allowed by this system. Use your imagination to add ever increasing boldness, underlines, size, italics and every other way you can imagine GODs name being emphasized.
Sir, in the OT the Hebrew children spelled G_d, out of their love and worship of Him. It wasn't out of disrespect, but to the contrary. They held God, the creator, in such awe, they felt they were unworthy to spell out His name. In the original Hebrew it was a sign of reverence and worship.
He's afraid he's losing the Jewish vote so this was just another campaign speech for him

As a NON-Jewish person, even I knew you only light one candle a day. But then, I learned this when I was young. When Obammy was young, he attended muslim schools and "churches".
I also loved how he kept using the word "story". This was not just some "story" to help children sleep at night. This was just another EVENT that proved the might and will of God.
Your subliminal "mistakes" and attacks against other religions is not "cute" Obammy. It only shows who you truly choose to support.
