This one of many reasons that my wife and I decided to homeschool 14 years ago and have been at it ever since. Our public school systems can make no claims to being institutions of learning or knowledge.
I completely AGREE – homeschooling is the way to go!!! Of course, if they had it their way, homeschooling would be illegal!
When I was a school student, there were no problems with children like they are today. When a teacher told you to sit down, you SAT down. Now days all the diciplinary freedoms have been taken away from Teachers because they cannot touch a child without it being called ABUSE. Do the powers that be really KNOW what real ABUSE is? Evidently, they either don't care or they don't know. IMO the children of today, not all, but few, are not taught to have respect for others. So, how can the teachers teach when the children are not interestd in listening. It is a sad story, but true. And even worse, is the fact, without that education, there is not a lot of hope for a good future.
I think some of these kid's need to have their ass wipped, right after I whip the parent's for making them listen and respect other's!

The Unions have gone the same way as the government, down the crooked Politically Correct path, well protected along the way! What’s really frightening, is these teachers are teaching our children, our future generation, and If you think that’s not important remember, it was liberal, socialistic teachers that taught Obama! Schools are being told, no prayers, no God, except homosexuality… so what kind of kids do you think we’re going to get with policies like that in place?

this is a continuation of the teachers college days- how about just being real sweethearts and have good morals by teaching kids honesty and proper manners and losing all that new age vanity-kids do not need garbage or to be messed with-they need a hero that truly cares enough to be a goody two shoes thoroughly heart mind and soul.

At the part where the teacher asked about restraining students, whoever captioned the video typed [UNINTELLIGIBLE]. I heard what she said: she asked if teachers are required to restrain students. I understand her concerns: it's damned if you do and damned if you don't. Teachers are being given the job description of law enforcement, which includes restraining techniques to prevent injury to the violent student, other students, and staff. I've been through the training in my job working with autistic students. It is always regrettable when restraint must be used, and it must be a last resort. We must focus on prevention first, but if there's a situation or circumstance we can't control, we must use techniques to adapt the environment, and if that doesn't prevent violence, then we must restrain the student SAFELY. I have scars from my injuries, but I understood from the beginning that I would face difficult situations and choices. Teachers in general education classrooms are not trained to deal with daily violence or violence as a regular occurrence, yet children are coming to classrooms with a great deal of anger, and they're taking it out on everyone. Many districts first insisted that violence could only occur in a classroom if the teacher were lax, but when it was too obviously widespread to ignore, they began providing crisis prevention and intervention training. I am of the opinion that district administrations did not, themselves, learn the programs before requiring their teachers to become certified in them. The reason is that the sole administrator who oversees discipline tells the teachers to use restraining techniques, and if the teacher refuses to do so, he or she is written up. Yet, if the teacher does restrain a student, the teacher is written up. Bringing up the concerns involved in restraining children is vitally important. After all, we are talking about YOUR children, and mine. How you can use this as evidence that the unions have gone wild is a failure in your analytical reasoning. I am not a member of a teacher's union because I left teaching. The reason I left is that school administrations and general idiots in the public are so ready to beat up on teachers and encourage students to be violent against teachers that no amount of pay made the job worth the risk of permanent physical injury to myself, or the potential of being sued by the parents of injured students because Jonny's parents encourage him to watch wrestling and practice on the teacher because teachers are overpaid and spoiled. As far as I'm concerned, I admire teachers who can stick it out, even if it means that they have to resort to morbid humor (e.g. "I can be a principal. Then I can *really* fuck w/ the kids, hahaha." — the guy was totally joking, those are the teachers who had the most success with SUPPORTING AND ENCOURAGING students!).
I thank GOD that my child was raised in the country and not the big city the shit I have seen here is the reason why this country is going to hell in a hand basket and why the kids now days don't know how to respect themselves or anything else. The teachers in this video should be in jail and not teaching and from the looks of things they are not teaching shit, We need too wipe the slate clean and start over for Obama to the unions to the teachers and on down the line

What you are saying is correct. My grandfather was a principal of a Detroit ghetto high school in the 60's and my father was an assistant principal in a different Detroit ghetto high school during the 60's, 70's and 80's. It is much, much worse now. What this shows is only the tip of the iceberg! Why do you think we have so many college professors who are America-haters and are teaching our kids to be anti-America and anti-Christianity?
It's true that teachers have to put up with undisciplined spoiled brats everyday in the classroom and they can't do ANYTHING to protect themselves!!! They can't paddle kids anymore, they really can't put their hands on a kid for any reason which is way out of line. If I had kids and they needed a good paddling, the teacher and principal would have my permission to do it– in front of me, of course. The result of taking God out of the schools and out of everyday life is the chaos we have in our schools, homes and culture.
I highly advocate home schooling and private Christian education!! I pity the kids who have to go to public school these days because it is a war zone with bullying, anti-Christian brainwashing, substandard education due to the "dumbing down" of the curriculum. Our kids nowadays have no clue about the U.S. Constituition and what REALLY HAPPENED to make this country great. It is soooooooooooo very sad!!!

How the hell can these corrupt individuals be involved in writing legislation like the health care bill and others? The ties to these radicals must be cut.
