I think the teachers union should never have started in the first place, teaching is a career, it is not just a Goverment job, in fact the Government has its own union, why didn't the teachers join that then, they have hurt every union out there, it is being used by Ron Paul to shut down all big labor unions and put hundreds of thousands of people out of work and put seniors living on union pensions in dire straits. paul is more of a rabble rouser than a senator, who is doing his constituents work? in one day I saw ads for the Unions and touting for the right to work group and keeping guns which I agree with but the NRA is already fighting that, there are at least 10 things he is fighting now and it makes me very uneasy ot see him fighting to get rid of unions, I hope he means all unions if he is going ot do htat, including the police and firemen and the radio and TV workers and sag the screen actos unions and any other Unions, he seems ot be stuck on two or three big labor unions, mainly because they backed Obama, I bleong to one of those Unions and I didn't back Obama and no one asked me to, I was a Republican, now I am an independent.
Everytime the teachers union strikes and that seems to be a lot, they hurt the children, they need all the education they can get and the teachers are busy picketing. maybe they ought to make it a part of the Government workers union. The members of Unions are all hard working people, most of us don't know what Rand Paul is talking about , none of the things he is talking about have ever happened ot any of us, maybe he should actually join a union and work through a real union and see what its like,
Speaking as a retired Teamster of 33 years I believe instead of giving money to some political party the money could better spent on its members.I paid into this crooked union and when i retired they told me i couldn't get a pension from them because I was getting a government pension now that is bullshit. The trouble is the presidents like Hoffa and the BA do what they want andnot what the members want.Mad have you ever seen a union official go hungry.Teacher should never have been able to unionize.
Personally, I have never been a member of a union & I think they should all be banned. 100 years ago, they may have been needed, but they have all been taken over by gangster types.
35 years ago I stated at a school board meeting that unions were nothing more than legalized gangsterism. I was hated by most of the teachers at that time, but I still maintain that is the truth.
