This is just sad. We need to reverse this by getting involved in local nonprofits and our churches.

Sorry Daniel Noe, it has nothing to do with nonprofits or churches. Obama is actively recruiting for food stamp recipients. Until the Government stops advertising that receiving food stamps will help spur the economy, and that most people will qualify, the amount of people on food stamps will not diminish.
As the Democratic Platform states, it is your duty to receive food stamps to help the economy.
