On February 4, 2011, the Department of Justice sent a letter to Congress adamantly denying that guns were ever walked across the border. As emails, memos, and whistleblowers came forth detailing not only guns being walked, but the ATF “encouraging” gun dealers to sell to known straw buyers (some even being videotaped), DOJ finally withdrew this letter after a full ten months.
While the Fast and Furious scandal has been raging on social media on literally thousands of conservative websites, the mainstream media has ignored the issue. Until recently, NBC had devoted something like one minute of coverage over the entire eighteen months of the Senate and House investigations.
This has all changed with Obama’s June 20th Executive Privilege invocation as well as Eric Holder being found in Contempt of Congress by the House Oversight and Reform Committee. Obama has put the lid on approximately 80,000 documents that Congressional investigators have subpoenaed (that Holder has refused to turn over), and Obama and his MSM cronies have gone from ignore mode to attack mode in literally twenty-four hours.
The liberal talking heads have been making the rounds on all the news circuits, obviously using talking points, as everyone is using the same terms: witch hunt, fishing expedition, partisan politics, etc. And of course, the politics of personal destruction, the race card, and now Pelosi’s ludicrous charge that Congress is out to get Holder in order to suppress minority voting has been making the rounds. Regarding Pelosi’s charge, the fact that the Fast and Furious investigation got under way much earlier than Holder’s one-man crusade against voter ID laws began didn’t seem to have deterred Pelosi in the least.
However, one of the odd liberal talking heads that has been making the rounds both on Fox and the liberal media is one Matthew Miller, former DOJ spokesman under Eric Holder. Miller claims to have been literally standing next to Holder when, in early 2011, he got the news that guns were being walked and that Holder put a stop to it. This is an odd statement, given that the February 4, 2011 letter stated unequivocally that guns were not being walked, so exactly what story Holder is trying to serve up now is not clear. What is clear is that we are watching a massive cover-up occur before our very eyes.

Yes President Bush did start "Project GunRunner" in 2006, which turned into "Operation Wide Receiver" of which the Mexican Officials knew about this operation and were a part of it. In 2007 President Bush STOPPED ALL PROGRAMS ASSOCIATED WITH "Project GunRunner" and "Operation Wide Receiver".
On 24 March 2009 Deputy AG Ogden held a press Conference and stated that Obama has "Authorized" Deputy AG Ogden and AG Holder to restart "Project GunRunner" which will later become "Operation Fast and Furious". Here is the video of that Conference, so don't tell me it was all Bush's fault!!
