What about gun “control”?
1. The federal government has no jurisdiction, power nor authority over guns or other weapons. Read our constitution.
2. Owning guns for protection, collection, competition, hunting or whatever is a human/natural right and “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed [limited].” – 2nd Amendment
3. If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Nothing that is banned has ever stopped being used. Laws are just words on paper. Gun "control" is a knee-jerk reaction to tragedy. Murder by gun still occurs in places and nations where guns are banned. Crimes are more common in “gun free zones”.
4. Banned guns and gun parts will increase in price and become profitable for the few people in the “black market” and increase the cost to taxpayers for the pursuit, trial and imprisonment of “gun lords”.
5. When alcoholic drinks were unconstitutionally outlawed (18th Amendment), new problems were created. So the ban was repealed (21st Amendment). Problems with drug banning now exist. Banning or limiting guns will create more problems….
6. If guns are banned, then should no one have guns including public servants (police, military…)? Public servants should not be the only ones with guns. They “go postal” also. Many dictators banned guns before they murdered their own fellow citizens. Alexander Hamilton said in Federalist Paper 28 “If the representatives of the people betray their constituents,… the citizens must rush tumultuously to arms.” The people created government to be their servant. Weapons are needed to keep the servants serving rather than oppressing.
7. Guns are a tool, not the cause. Drug use (prescribed, etc.), violent media and violent video games cause more people to murder than any other cause except greed for power (central governments have murdered far more innocent people).
