This Photo Should Tell You Everything You Need To Know About The FedEx Shooting

The picture above shows the scene outside the FedEx facility where Tuesday’s  mass shooting in Georgia took place. Notice carefully what sign is posted.  That’s right, it’s a “No Firearms Allowed” sign.

It’s a tragic story. A FedEx employee injured six other people using a shotgun in the gun-free zone, three of whom are in critical condition and two of whom are in surgery, according to the hospital. After he had injured the six, the employee used the gun to kill himself.

Numerous 911 calls alerted police that there was a shooter in the building, and more than 100 police and federal officers quickly swarmed in on the location. But despite the speed with which police got there, the damage had already been done.

According to a hospital spokesperson, two of the injuries were life-threatening, specifically those of a twenty-eight year old man and a fifty-two year old woman.  The hospital said the man was on a ventilator.

The effectiveness of gun free zones is a matter of continuing political debate. According to economist John Lott, “With just one single exception, the attack on congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson in 2011, every public shooting since at least 1950 in the U.S. in which more than three people have been killed has taken place where citizens are not allowed to carry guns.”

FedEx issued a statement in which they said, “FedEx is aware of the situation. Our primary concern is the safety and wellbeing of our team members, first responders, and others affected. FedEx is cooperating with authorities.”

How effective are gun zones in preventing violence?  Do they help prevent it? Or do they in fact provide mass shooters with confidence that they won’t be confronted by someone packing heat while carrying out their rampage? Feel free to share your thoughts.

Here’s a close-up of the picture. This photo should tell you everything you need to know.

  1. AMERICAN says:

gun free zones encourage those wanting to perpetrate as much damage as possible.

  2. Edwardkoziol says:

Why would anyone crazy or not go into a place that says guns allowed.I know that being political correct is the way were going in america and all these gun haters want there way but if someone had been carring maybe less employees would have been hurt.I wonder if he like all other shooters was a liberal democrap.

  3. OR-Patriot says:

So called "gun free" zones are essentially KILLING zones! The perpetrators of heinous acts are virtually guaranteed free reign in such areas.

    It's despicable, stupid, and unnecessary.

  4. Take THAT, liberal scum.

  5. Mike11C says:

Just this week, in Austin, Texas, a guy got fired from a construction site. He went home, got his gun and, went back to show his ex-boss how pissed he was but, that construction site was NOT a "Gun Free Zone". He pulled his gun out and, to his surprise, his ex-boss pulled one out too. No one was killed but, the guy who went looking for pay-back ended up going to the hospital on the way to jail. Score another one for legally carrying a concealed handgun!

All the mass killings would have been shortened or stopped if someone in the building / area had a gun.
Not rocket science – ask any Sherriff.
Police DO NOT protect – they file the report.

  7. 1LTLos says:

100 Law Enforcement "officers" AFTER THE FACT. Look at the lummox to the far right in the photo with a load bearing vest playing ARMY! What an idiot infantile moron! Why does is take 100 men? Who would order such a over extension of resources when its all over? Talk about Law Enforcement's wearing out of their welcome — They are ineffective over-militarized and I think need to be disarmed like British Bobbies — You dont need all the unnecessary firepower to take down a report! Gentlemen of LE – I am sad to say but I have withdrawn my respect. The Gun Free Zone idiocy speaks volumes by itself
Thanks for bearing with me as I rant

  8. scholar says:

WHen you need help in an emergency, the police are just minutes away. Enough said. No gun zones kill.

  9. Keep making the point and sticking it to the unions because that is how the RTC will finally come into play…..

  10. Raymond says:

Why did Barack Obama refer to His Wife as Michael?
Is Michelle Obama really a man dressed in women’s
clothing? Has anyone seen Barack Obama’s birth certificate?
Has anyone seen Michelle Obama’s birth certificate? Has
anyone seen the birth certificate of “his?” 2 daughters?

Look at the 2 video clips and decide for yourself.
