Established 15 years ago, the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number [ITIN] is a seemingly innocuous administrative requirement that the Internal Revenue Service assigns to anyone who is employed and pays taxes. According to the IRS website, the numbers are used for federal tax reporting only. But since ITINs, as they are commonly known, are issued to wage earners regardless of immigration status, they’ve frequently been abused by the aliens who hold them.
Although the real estate crisis is fading from our memory, it’s important to recall that the ITIN was the vehicle used in lieu of Social Security numbers, which then legitimized the disastrous lending policy of providing home mortgages to unqualified illegal aliens. With bankers as their willing abettors, and while the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation purposely looked the other way, aliens took out home loans using ITINs as their major form of identification. Bankers, only too-eager to accommodate poverty-level applicants with balloon financing for homes they could barely make the first payment on, raked in big money. To the bankers, aliens represented the “new market.” Today, five years later, the nation is still reeling from the avalanche of foreclosures that followed.
For aliens, the ITIN is an extremely useful vehicle. Since the IRS isn’t required to share its information with any other federal agency, including immigration authorities, the promise of intra-agency confidentiality allows aliens to file tax returns without fear of deportation. At the same time, holding an ITIN enables aliens to authenticate their presence in the United States and prove that they have paid taxes. This information could be crucial if Congress ever enacted an amnesty.
The ITIN’s improper use is once again in the news. The Federation for American Immigration Reform, in its recent analysis entitled “Treasury Department Says Illegal Aliens Collection Billions in Tax Credits,” revealed that according to the Department of Treasury’s Inspector General, more than $4.2 billion….

It is very plain and simple. The ILLEGALS in this country HAVE To go. They are draining the system on all accounts from medicare, SS benefits, welfare, WIC, subsidized housing, education. These are all programs that would save a tremendous amount of money if the illegals went home.

Yeah, that's a really big problem! Just like Holder and the DOJ re: operation 'Fast and Furious'. I don't believe Holder has any intentions of resigning (although, he should be arrested for his criminal activity and some in the DOJ), he's going to hem and haw and let this investigation fester for months. After all, these criminals need time to get all their ducks in a row.
America, this upcoming election is the most important one ever! If we are ever to get our country back from these criminals, we have to vote Obama and company out. If enough people vote to get rid of Obama they couldn't possibly rig that many votes in favor of Obama. That's why it's imperative, you get out and vote these criminals OUT!!!!

This is illegal,BUT reps and Senators are such criminals they won't do anything to elliminate Obams the Imposter. I saw and heard him say he wasn't a citizen, and has denied citizenship when he took money fron the U. S. for Foreign aid in Indonesia.
Right! I also read an article saying that if they impeach Obama, we then will probably have to contend with Hillary for the Dem nomination. Logically, the party should be dead right then and there after such a scandal, but the people who support these criminals don't have a problem with certain ethical and moral issues and will vote Hillary in! TAking a wait and see attitude is not such a bad idea. Impeachment would verify that illegals can run for Pres., if he's taken out because he wasn't eligible in so many ways, the integrity of that part of the U.S. Constitution remains intact.
I too, supported Cain, but at this point, he has too much baggage to be able to do much else other than defend himself. As I have said, we need to get behind one person, and put our votes and efforts into electing this person, whoever they may be, and at least, get this pos out of our capitol. The Itin is but another way for the federal gov. to give away tax moneys that doesn't belong to them. If these Iseots had to show responsibility for this money, when the illegal failed to make payments they were stuck with the responsibility of paying out of their pockets, they would be a lot tighter fisted, and not WILLING to give away their moneys. They need to have binds on them that made the federal gov, persons each responsible

Interesting article. I think I will apply for an ITIN. Then, since the IRS can't verify, I will claim a couple of children that I say lives in Mexico. Since I obviously don't have a name like Jose, Rodriguez, Martinez or the like, I will probably be caught. When the IRS tries to prosecute me, I think I might just have a suit against them for discriminatory prosecution or something similar.

Forgot voting these problems away, just do the simple math and figure out we now are breeding more communista democrat illegal alien anchor babies than citizens, and we PAY them to do it and reward them lavishly, while we punish our own citizens.
