The party of Cordell Hull, Estes Kefauver and Al Gore Sr. and Jr. won’t have a standard-bearer — or at least not one it can stomach — in Tennessee’s next U.S. Senate race.
Less than 24 hours after a man espousing conservative and libertarian views surprised the state’s political scene by winning the Democratic nomination, the Tennessee Democratic Party disavowed him, saying he’s part of an anti-gay hate group.
The party said Friday that it would do nothing to help Mark Clayton, 35, who received nearly twice as many votes as his closest challenger in Thursday’s seven-candidate primary, winning the right to challenge Republican U.S. Sen. Bob Corker in November.

Sounds like he doesn't need the democrat-party.
-
I don't know him, have never heard from him – nor do I know the Republican he would be running against.
–
BUT he Does NOT need the stupid demo-party to WIN – if that is what the voters want.
FYI – I am a registered Republican.
This man must be good if the liberal maxist commie dems disavow him.
I still have yet to figure out what "hate group" Mark Clayton belongs to.
Democrats have thrown the words "hate groups" around too much just as they have tried with the race card. Being pro-life and heterosexual is not a reason to hate him.
When are the heterophobics going to learn this? It's bad enough the heterophobics are trying to remove the rights of straights. If only heterophobics could learn tolerance of others who don't agree with your life choices. It's not their fault nature made them straight. We shouldn't be forced to choose to be gay like others do.
Besides having to hide our feelings of love for the opposite sex, we also are made to feel shame when we decide to continue to birth the other natural thing that happens because of our choice; pregnancy.
So we are told we are not normal or natural to be in a marriage with the opposite sex and to bring a child in the world this way.
Why are people heterophobic? Why do they hate us so much? Why do they want to remove our rights?
