Gov’t Urges Parents To Use School Lunches As A Model For Family Dinner

USDA SC Govt Urges Parents to Use School Lunches As a Model for Family Dinner

(CNSNews.com) – Government-approved school meals as a model for the family dinner table?
Responding to concerns that students are throwing away the healthy food on their cafeteria trays, the U.S. Department of Agriculture acknowledged that adapting to the changes “may be challenging at first, as students are introduced to new flavors and foods in the cafeteria.”

But the government also says parents can help school make the taste-transition easier:

“We know that many parents are already making changes at home to help the whole family eat healthier,” the USDA blogged on Monday. “We recommend reviewing school menus with kids at home and working to incorporate foods that are being served at school into family meals as much as possible.”

A recent video produced by high school students in Kansas mocked the healthy school lunches, showing young athletes fainting from starvation. “We are hungry,” they lip-synched, as one by one they topple over.

Obama Admin Wants to Widen Government’s Gay Indoctrination

Rowan Scarborough, The Washington Times

U.S. Department of Agriculture activists want to impose their intense brand of homosexual sensitivity training government-wide. If accepted by the Obama administration, that move could mean more sessions for military service members already undergoing gay-sensitivity indoctrination.

Critics fear additional gay-oriented training would be an unnecessary added burden for combat troops and encourage some to leave.

USDA officials have asked the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), which oversees all federal worker policies, to impose its gay-awareness programs on all federal departments, according to an internal newsletter…

The push for the training is coming from Agriculture Secretary Thomas J. Vilsack, former Democratic governor of Iowa. He has launched a department-wide “Cultural Transformation” that includes the “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender [LGBT] Special Emphasis Program.”

The USDA’s senior training coordinator, Bill Scaggs, has developed a sensitivity program far more extensive than the Pentagon’s training for the anticipated lifting of the ban on open homosexuals in the ranks…

The Agriculture Department described its program in an internal newsletter, “My USDA: A Progress Report for Employees on USDA’s Cultural Transformation”…

The newsletter adds: “Future collaborations with OPM are planned, with the ultimate goal of having LGBT Special Emphasis Programs across the federal government”…

Mr. Scaggs‘ briefing for USDA employees is titled “Including Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in Diversity”…

One slide on gender identity states: “Individuals are conscious of [sexual identify] between the ages of 18 months and 3 years. Most people develop a gender identity that matches their biological sex. For some, gender identity is different from biological sex (transsexuals).”

On attempts to change someone from gay to straight, the briefing says: “Usually doesn’t work and may even be harmful. Can produce feelings of depression, hopelessness, shame and anxiety. Some people become suicidal”…

The briefing defines “heterosexism” as an ” ‘ism’ like sexism or racism where one is considered better than others.” It gives as examples the ban on gays serving openly in the military and laws that define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

Obama Spies on TX Schoolkids to See What They Eat

Judicial Watch

The government agency that’s wasting tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to study how global warming effects crops, recruit more food-stamp recipients and bring healthy cuisine to the inner city has dropped a couple million on a device that tracks what minority public school children eat for lunch.

It marks the latest outrageous expenditure of public funds at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), which is supposed to provide leadership on food, agriculture and natural resources based on “sound public policy” and science. Instead, under the Obama Administration, the bloated agency is spending huge sums to control matters unrelated to its mission.

As the federal deficit creeps towards $15 trillion, the USDA has launched a costly project to calculate how many lunchtime calories poor and minority kids consume at five Texas elementary schools. High-tech cameras have already been installed in the cafeteria of one San Antonio campus to photograph the foods students put on their trays. The digital imaging later determines how many calories were consumed. The cost to U.S. taxpayers; $2 million.

The local official overseeing the absurd minority food monitoring project for the feds assures that taxpayers are getting their money’s worth because it’s “very sophisticated.” After software calculates calories—by analyzing before and after food photos—parents will receive reports showing what their kids are eating at lunch. The goal is to motivate the adults to change their children’s eating habits at home.

This is all part of Michelle Obama’s multi billion-dollar effort to bring healthy foods to low-income neighborhoods and combat childhood obesity, which she claims is most prevalent among the poor and ethnic minorities.

Video: NAACP Plays the Race Card, Exhibits Racism

In recent weeks, the Democratic party has unveiled their newest and best strategy to win in the November elections: call everyone else racist.

The group spearheading this effort is the NAACP, which is undeniably a tool of the Democratic Party. In recent days they have upped their attack on the Tea Party, issuing a formal demand to the tea party that they condemn racist elements in their own party.

The Mainstream Media has only been too happy to carry the torch for the NAACP’s unconscionable use of the race card for political gain, ignoring Tea Party pleas of innocence.

For the Mainstream Media, the Tea Party is guilty until proven innocent, and they have no desire to show evidence of innocence.

But the bloggers are fighting back.

Now that the NAACP has brought up the race card, they have opened themselves up to attacks that they are racist as well.

Andrew Brietbart of Big Government today released a video of Shirley Sherrod, the USDA Georgia director of Rural Development, speaking at the NAACP Freedom Fund dinner in Georgia.

In her meandering speech to what appears to be an all-black audience, this federally appointed executive bureaucrat lays out in stark detail, that her federal duties are managed through the prism of race and class distinctions.

[...]Sherrod describes how she racially discriminates against a white farmer. She describes how she is torn over how much she will choose to help him. And, she admits that she doesn’t do everything she can for him, because he is white. Eventually, her basic humanity informs that this white man is poor and needs help. But she decides that he should get help from “one of his own kind”. She refers him to a white lawyer.

Sherrod’s racist tale is received by the NAACP audience with nodding approval and murmurs of recognition and agreement. Hardly the behavior of the group now holding itself up as the supreme judge of another groups’ racial tolerance.

The NAACP is being incredibly shortsighted in their new strategy of using the race card. They are going to incite a race war if they keep this up. This battle is not about race, and if we allow them to define the lines as one between blacks and whites, they will defeat us, and in the end defeat what makes America great. This battle is between those who desire Government to be involved and controlling every facet of their lies, and those who see what is happening to our freedom and have drawn a line in the sand.

Opposition to a black president is not racism. Opposition to socialism is not racism. If we let them bait us into making it about race rather than the truth of our claims, it will not bode well for the future of this country.
