From Gunrunner to Gun-Grabber

Doug Book, FloydReports.com

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-MD, wants to grab your guns.

On June 30th, Maryland Democratic Congressman Elijah Cummings assembled gun confiscation advocates and Second Amendment foes from across the nation to approach the Project Gunrunner/Fast and Furious debacle by doing what the Left does best: changing the subject.

As it is not in the nature of liberals to allow truth to interfere with their agenda, the Congressman decided to ignore the fact that members of the Obama regime’s ATF had directed the sale of thousands of weapons to drug cartel straw buyers and assisted in trafficking those guns across the Mexican border.

Instead, Cummings claimed that“no legitimate examination of [drug cartel violence and illegal firearms trafficking] will be complete without analyzing our nation’s gun laws, which allow tens of thousands of assault weapons to flood into Mexico from the United States each year.”

It apparently escaped the Congressman’s notice that it was President Obama’s ATF and DOJ that fractured those gun laws and caused a flood of weapons across the border in the first place.

So, with the embarrassing facts of Project Gunrunner properly shoved under the table, the Cummings Forum offered the following recommendations to halt the flow of arms across the border….

Obama Pal, Who Was Awarded $457,000 in Taxpayer Funds & Has Visited White House, Is Being Investigated For Ties to Terrorism

Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit

It’s not just Bill Ayers…

In October 2010 FBI agents raided the homes of far left activists in Chicago and Minneapolis who were linked to the Marxist FARC terrorists and Islamic radicals as part of a terrorism investigation.

The home of radical Hatem Abudayyeh, a friend of Barack Obama, was raided in the terror sweep.

Radical Hatem Abudayyeh protested against Israel in Chicago in January 2009. (Daylife)

Hatem Abudayyeh is the executive director of the Arab American Action Network (AAAN). Hatem Abudayyeh has been with the Arab American Action Network (AAAN) since 1999, and was appointed Executive Director in 2003. The Arab American Action Network was founded by former PLO operative and close Obama family friend Rashid Khalidi. Obama was a director of the Woods Fund from 1994 through 2001, when the board approved a $40,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network.

In 2003 Barack Obama was an honored guest at a dinner sponsored by the AAAN for former PLO-operative Rashid Khalidi. During the dinner a video was taken that shows Barack Obama celebrating with members of this Palestinian group who are openly hostile towards Israel. Barack Obama even gave a toast to a Rashid Khalidi at this going away party. The LA Times will not release the video from this….

King Obama Tramples the Law, Continues Libyan War by Decree

Ben Johnson, FloydReports.com

In his official notice to Congress that he had unilaterally sent American soldiers into the Libyan war kinetic action, Barack Obama wrote, “I am providing this report as part of my efforts to keep the Congress fully informed, consistent with the War Powers Resolution.” Today, he decided the War Powers Resolution is also disposable. In a letter to Congress today Obama declared America’s role in the Libyan civil war is so “limited” that he does not need Congressional authorization, as that law requires. He then asked their support for a measure John Boehner had not even seen. The move is the most recent of a string of Obama actions that bypass Congress to implement his agenda.

The War Powers Resolution allows the president to introduce troops into war for 60 days before either seeking Congressional approval or beginning a 30-day withdrawal.

Those 60 days ended today. However, Congress adjourned this afternoon without providing authorization.

Obama has made clear our troops are staying in the middle of a losing civil war no matter what the members of Congress – or the people who elected them – think.

Only as Congress was ready to adjourn did Obama send a letter to the leaders of both houses supporting a resolution in favor of the war. The measure drafted by Sens. John Kerry, John McCain, Carl Levin, Dianne Feinstein, Lindsey Graham, and Joe Lieberman.

Obama wrote passing the resolution would “underline the U.S. commitment” to this “remarkable” action. As an afterthought, he added it would be “important in the context of our constitutional framework” – not because it is a legal requisite imposed by constitution and statute – but because “it would demonstrate a unity of purpose among the political branches.” If there is a division, the implication is that Obama would continue without such “unity.”

At least one Congressional leader said he had not yet seen the resolution, much less had it been approved. A spokesman for Speaker of the House John Boehner, Michael Steel, told the L.A. Times, “We received the president’s letter but have yet to see the draft resolution it mentions.”

The president concluded the letter with his traditional audacious lie….

Federal Judge: No, Really, ObamaCare is Unconstitutional

Ben Johnson, FloydReports.com

Imagine two men walk into a bar: Mr. Smith and Mr. Jones. While Mr. Smith orders himself and his new bride a round of drinks, Mr. Jones begins harassing the young lady. Mr. Smith, seeing this behavior, then swaggers back to his seat and describes the physical contest that awaits Mr. Jones if he does not bid Mrs. Smith adieu post haste. As Jones deliberates, Smith warns him, “You have three seconds to leave this bar, or else.” Then imagine the next day every major newspaper in the country covered the story by running the headline, “Smith Backs Down from Bar Fight.”

That’s what would have happened if the mainstream media covered this hypothetical showdown the way they covered Judge Roger Vinson’s ruling on ObamaCare on Thursday.

The First Malpractice of ObamaCare: Journalistic Malpractice

Instead of reporting on Judge Vinson’s stinging, insistent “clarification” of his previous ruling that ObamaCare is unconstitutional, the media emphasized that Vinson grudgingly allowed the administration to implement the policy under certain conditions. Noam N. Levey, the Washington Bureau reporter for the Los Angeles Times whose work is nationally syndicated, called the ruling “a legal victory” for Obama. The Wall Street Journal claimed….
