Video: Hawaiian State Senator, Maybe Obama’s Hiding His Father’s Name

WND.com

The lone Republican in the Hawaii State Senate told a radio interviewer today he believes “the real issue” stopping Barack Obama from releasing his long-form birth certificate is something the president has to hide, perhaps even the name of his actual birth father.

Hawaii State Sen. Sam Slom further told the host of “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” on WABC 770 AM in New York City that so long as Obama refuses to be transparent about his past, questions about the president’s birth remain “a legitimate issue.”

“My particular point of view – and why I haven’t identified myself as a ‘birther,’ per se – is that [Obama] probably was born [in Hawaii] and that the real issue is not the birth certificate, but what’s on the birth certificate,” Slom told Klein.

Asked what that could be, Slom said, “It could have to do with what his name is on the birth certificate, who is actually listed as his father, the citizenship of the father.”

He continued, “My belief is that there is a birth certificate, he was born here, but that there is information that for reasons known only to him he doesn’t want released. If it were just the birth certificate, that would be one thing, but it’s his school records, it’s employment records. … Why would anybody, let alone the president of the United States, spend millions of dollars in legal fees to keep that hidden?”

“As long as that goes on,” he concluded, “I think it’s a legitimate issue.”

As WND has reported, besides Obama’s actual birth documentation, the president has refused to release his Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, files from his years as an Illinois state senator, Illinois State Bar Association records, baptism records and his adoption records.

Poll: 25% of Americans Believe Obama was not Born in U.S.

Stephanie Condon, CBSNews.com

A quarter of all Americans incorrectlythink President Obama was not born in the United States, according to a new CBS News/New York Times poll.

Among all Republicans, 45 percent believe he was born in another country, as do 45 percent of Tea Party supporters, the poll shows.

Since the start of Mr. Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, rumors have existed that he was born outside of the United States. The “birther” myth has steadily persisted through Mr. Obama’s presidency, in spite of overwhelming evidence he was born in the United States — including his 1961 birth announcement, printed in two Hawaii newspapers.

Businessman and television personality Donald Trump has pushed the issue into the spotlight in recent weeks, insisting that he is unconvinced of Mr. Obama’s origins. While Trump has used the issue to bring more attention to his possible Republican presidential bid, other Republicans are trying to tamp down the “birther” talk…

The myth seems fated to live on, however, as a new book will come out next month entitled, Where’s the Birth Certificate?: The Case that Barack Obama is not Eligible to be President.

What If His Birthplace is Not What Obama’s Hiding?

Don Wilkie, The American Thinker

With Donald Trump’s headline-grabbing call for our president to release his birth certificate, more and more people are discussing the circumstances of Obama’s birth. Although it seems likely that Obama is hiding something — the date of birth, the place, the father — it is highly unlikely that he is concealing a Kenyan nativity.

The president’s mother, Ann Dunham and father, Barack Obama, Sr., supposedly met in a Russian language class at the University of Hawaii. The time was late September, 1960. For the official birth date of August 4, 1961 to work, and assuming that Ann carried her baby for a full term, she would have to have been impregnated sometime in mid November, 1960.

Continuing with the official story, Obama’s parents were supposedly married February 2, 1961, on the island of Maui when Ann was approximately 2 ½ months pregnant. It is at this point that we lose track of the President’s mother. She is not enrolled at the University of Hawaii. No one sees her (with the possible exception of self appointed best friend Neil Abercrombie, current Governor of Hawaii), and no one can vouch for her whereabouts. That is not the case, however, with Obama’s father, Barack Obama, Sr.

Gregg Takiyama, Director of Community and Government Affairs at the University of Hawaii, Manoa campus, has supplied the following information on Obama Sr.’s school attendance: Dates of attendance: Fall 1959 – Spring 1962; Degree awarded: BA – Economics, Spring 1962. Classes were held throughout the year: Fall = August-Dec.; Spring = Jan.-May; Summer = May-Aug.

Notre Dame Prof: House Should Investigate Obama’s Eligibility

Charles E. Rice, Spero News

The speculation about President Obama”s eligibility goes on and on, with no reliable access to the truth and with no end in sight. It is time for a new approach.

The Constitution provides: “No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.” Art II, Sec. 1. Neither the Constitution nor any federal law defines the term “natural born citizen.” Nor has the Supreme Court provided a definition that covers the questions presented in the Obama case.

In Minor v. Happersett, in 1875, the Supreme Court, made an incidental reference to the issue: “[N]ew citizens may be born or they may be created by naturalization. The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first.” 88 U.S. 162, 167-68 (1875).

The Obama “Fight the Smears” website has published a digital photograph of a short-form “Certification of Live Birth” issued by the Hawaiian Department of Health that lists his place and date of birth as Honolulu on August 4, 1961. At that time, Hawaii”s practice was to issue also a long-form Certificate of Live Birth which contains more information, including the name of the hospital, or address of the place, where the birth occurred; the identity of the physician or other “attendant” at the birth; and the signature of the parent or other ”informant” certifying the accuracy of the information, etc. President Obama has not given the permission required by Hawaiian law for release of that long-form certificate.

Numerous lawsuits challenging Obama”s eligibility have been rejected by every court involved, including the Supreme Court of the United States. Some are still pending. The rejections have been based on various grounds, including the plaintiff”s lack of standing to sue and other specified and unspecified procedural grounds. No court has agreed to decide any of those suits on the merits…

I suggest no conclusion as to whether Obama is eligible or not. But the citizens whom the media and political pundits dismiss as “birthers” have raised legitimate questions. That legitimacy is fueled by Obama”s curious, even bizarre, refusal to consent to the release of the relevant records. Perhaps there is nothing to the issues raised. Or perhaps there is. This is potentially serious business. If it turns out that Obama knew he was ineligible when he campaigned and when he took the oath as President, it could be the biggest political fraud in the history of the world. As long as Obama refuses to disclose the records, speculation will grow and grow without any necessary relation to the truth. The first step toward resolving the issue is full discovery and disclosure of the facts.

The courts are not the only entities empowered to deal with such a question. A committee of the House of Representatives could be authorized to conduct an investigation into the eligibility issue…

The power to investigate can be exercised by a House committee provided that the investigation is within that committee”s authorization as determined by the House. An investigation into Obama”s eligibility by a committee or subcommittee of the House could have several legitimate objectives, including among others:

1. To ascertain the facts, compelling by subpoena the production of all the available records relevant to Obama”s eligibility, including the complete Hawaiian records of his birth; his passport records to ascertain whether he traveled to Pakistan in 1981 on an American or other passport; the records from Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School to determine whether Obama described himself as a foreign student; and such other records as may be relevant. The disclosure of such information to the public would be an appropriate exercise of Congress” “informing function.”

2. The consideration of legislation to require candidates for a federal elective office to produce, at an appropriate time, evidence of their eligibility for that office. There is now no federal law or regulation that requires such disclosure.

3. The consideration of legislation to define the constitutional term, “a natural born Citizen.”

The American people do not know whether the current president achieved election by misrepresenting, innocently or by fraud, his eligibility for that office. I neither know nor suggest the answer to that question. But it would be a public service for the House of Representatives to employ its authority to determine those facts and to recommend any indicated changes in the law or the Constitution.

Hawaiian Health Director Quits 1 Wk. After Confirming There is no Obama Birth Certificate

Auburn Journal

Here is a funny story.

A week after the governor of Hawaii, Neil Abercrombie admitted that there is no proof that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii as claimed, the health director responsible for maintaining such records resigns under “mysterious circumstances”.

Of course, the mainstream media are not digging into it. They will mention it in passing, then move on to something more interesting, like the weather.

” HONOLULU – Interim Hawaii Health Director Dr. Neal Palafox abruptly quit Wednesday, the first of new Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s Cabinet appointees to leave.

The reason for Palafox’s resignation was a mystery, and he wouldn’t say whether he was asked to resign. ”
