If President Obama is supporting al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces, should he be subject to indefinite detention under the terms of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)?
As The New American has chronicled since it was first proposed, the NDAA purportedly authorizes the president of the United States to deploy the armed forces to apprehend and indefinitely detain anyone suspected of providing support to terrorists. Section 1021 of the NDAA reads in relevant part:
Congress affirms that the authority of the President to use all necessary and appropriate force pursuant to the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107-40; 50 U.S.C.1541 note) includes the authority for the Armed Forces of the United States to detain covered persons (as defined in subsection (b)) pending disposition under the law of war.
A covered person under this section is any person as follows:
A person who was a part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces.
And, finally:
Detention under the law of war without trial until the end of the hostilities authorized by the Authorization for Use of Military Force.
A plain reading of Section 1021 reveals, then, that anyone who is found to have “substantially supported” al-Qaeda or associated forces can be detained by the military until the end of the War on Terror. Now, the relevant question becomes: Has President Obama substantially supported al-Qaeda and if so, how?

Yes, Obama shold be detained for violating the NDAA. He signed the bill and it should now be used against him because of his treasonous activity. NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW, OBAMA!
Since Soetoro signed it into law and Soetoro is the law breaker, who does the deed then? It says the president can send the military. Who else can? It most assuredly needs to be done.

@tbolt71, the time needs to come, and come quickly, that these cultists, Democraps, that they be put UNDER THE LAW! Way under the law, as the criminals they truly are. Arrested, taken to jail, tried for high treason and crimes against the people of the United States, and crimes against the US Constitution. Found guilty of these crimes, and this shouldn’t be hard at all, taken out and hung by the neck, until “dead, dead, dead. This should include every member of Congress, the House, the Senate, and all lobbyists who supports these criminals. It would take a while to get this done, but well worth the effort in the long run. This is not only justice, but symbolic of how these traitors and criminals have strangled the American people by their arrogant disrespect of us, and of our Constitution. We are strangling at the hands of these liars, thieves, and criminals in office, thus, this punishment would send a clear and resounding message to all who come after them, to SERVE the People of The United States of America….that they will either do their jobs as described, or face the same fate, punishment for deriliction of duty. Some say that the Death Penalty is cruel and unusual punishment, and that it really does not discourage criminals from their dasterdly deeds. I disagree. Very few people really want to be hanged by the neck and die as slowly as possible. It is the human nature to want to live…………and facing death is not something that humans really look forward to. So, I am a proponent of the death penalty for all, ALL criminals of this nature. Anyone who would do what these people have done to us and our country, deserve nothing less than death by hanging.
