Romney-Rubio Tango Displays Early Missteps

Marco Rubio Official SC 236x300 Romney Rubio tango displays early missteps

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, the Spanish-speaking son of Cuban immigrants and a rising star in the Republican ranks, is generating more excitement and controversy — and potentially some hard feelings — inside the party than likely GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney has been able to create this year.

But while many in the party see Mr. Rubio as an ideal running mate for Mr. Romney in a year in which both the Hispanic vote and the senator’s home state could prove crucial, the dance between the two men on whether Mr. Rubio is or isn’t in the running has proven unusually awkward in the early stages. Rarely has such confusion and disagreement attended a potential vice presidential pick.

“This has been handled clumsily enough to raise questions at a time when Romney doesn’t need it,” said John Zogby, who conducts polls for The Washington Times.

There are questions surrounding the first-term senator — including reports of personal financial troubles in the past — but the press leaks this week that the Romney camp wasn’t even vetting Mr. Rubio for the job — denied immediately by the candidate — and that the senator had been “excluded” from a Romney retreat in Utah this weekend only added to the image of confusion.

“The Romney camp is missing the point that whatever issues may come with Rubio — his personal financial debt in particular — they pale in comparison to the hit [the campaign] took this week with Hispanic voters and the fact that Rubio would lock down the extremely expensive TV multimedia market of Florida,” said GOP pollster Matt Towery.

I like Marco Rubio too but he can't be US President or VP because he dose not meet US Constitutional qualifications to hold those offices . Marco Rubio is not a Natural Born US Citizen in accordance with Article 2 Section 1 Clause 5 of the US Constitution . If Romney picks Rubio for VP he will rule the day he made that decision . Enough US citizens know the fraud obama is not a legal sitting US President because of the very fact . And if anyone thinks two wrongs make a right they are deluding themselves when it comes the the US Constitution .

These arrogant pretenders on both sides are beyond belief. The world is in a complete breakdown of legality, morality and decency. Dark forces are in control. They make up their own rules and standards for the sole benefit of their evil agendas. Remember Bush 2 said that the Constitution was just a GD piece of paper. How will we ever get America back?

I am tired of hearing the news media hawking Rubio to be VP, and harassing Romney to select him, (as if there is not one "natural born" citizen in all of these United States capable of serving as president if necessary). Why pander to a select group of Hispanics, and lignore the Orentials, Native Americans, Italians, Germans, etc? Don't they vote?

Why hasn't someone in the news media, for example WND, ask Romney why he would even consider Rubio, knowing that he is not eligible?

    • JDM27 says:

I agree Lorene, Rubio has many positive traits but being a natural born citizen is not one of them. The media, and Hannity is the worst, have disregarded the NBC requirement. I've been waiting for Rubio to announce he is not qualified because of this, but not a word thus far. If he were to bring up this subject, then Obama's eligibility would also be in question.

Rubio is a wonderful leader and follows the ideas of the Tea Party, an appointment to another position within the Romney administration would be fine, just not VP.

There certainly are a lot of questions that need to be answered. Our President is the
patriarch of his family. Everyone before him has passed away. Even a lot of his gay
    lovers are gone.

He has spent millions hiding his past. Why?

It is time to reinsate the Constitution. The Founding Fathers could not have intended to
have our President shrouded in mystery. Otherwise, they would not have stipulated
that the President be a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN. They wanted no divided loyalties.

We don't even know who Obama is loyal to. Maybe the Republicans AND the Democrats
should start fresh with different candidates for this year's elections. Didn't Obama say
that he wouldn't deserve a second term if he couldn't bring about a balanced budget?

Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal and Barack Obama might all have the same problem.

Even Mitt Romney could have a problem in that regard. It would depend upon whether,
or not, Mitt's father had renounced his Mexican citizenship and was declared an American
    before Mitt was born.

Mitt's family was forced out of Utah when Utah became a State. They were, and still are,
Mormons and they were practicing polygamy, so they relocated to Mexico. Mitt's father
    was born there.

Barack Obama may well have been born in this Country, after all. They may have been
playing games with us because I'm fairly certain that Barack'r real father was Frank
Marshall Davis, a communist journalist. Barack Obama, senior, was just a cover to allow
Stanley Ann Dunham to get married and allow her son to have some legitimacy.

Senator Rubio may have many political assets that he could bring to the campaign, but he is not eligible for the office of president or vice-president.

  6. Patrecia says:

I would not have chosen for Mitt either, but not voting at all is 'voting' for Obama(nation). The best mind & experience & love for America is Allen West. I've listened to what he has to say and he never wavers. He does not like Obama and has called him what he is. . .unAmerican. Socialist/communist, etc.

  7. Seeks_the_truth says:

We are expected to suddenly change our belief of what a natural born citizen is all to allow a Hispanic to run? We need a Hispanic to run to gain the Hispanic vote? All the while they claim oblameo has the Black vote because he is partially Black.
And they say Whites are the racists? How much more hypocritical can they be?

  8. gene r says:

The only contest between the Democrat and Republican party is who gets to screw the American people for the next 4 to 8 years.
The dems elected an unqualified person and now the repubs want to do the same. They are both corrupt and are not to be trusted.
Now is the time to vote for the Constitution Party. What difference will it make if Romney is elected? Or we have another four years of Obama. America is screwed either way.

  9. Blue says:

Huckabee was trying to sell Rubio last night. I kept watching to see if he would ask Rubio about not being a natural born citizen, but he never asked once. They really think we the American people are stupid, they really do.
