NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Mitt Romney says the latest unemployment uptick is “another hammer blow to the struggling middle-class families of America.”
The Labor Department said Friday the country saw unemployment rise from 8.2 percent in June to 8.3 percent in July. Romney says that is “not just statistics” and that real people are struggling under President Barack Obama.

“Hammer blow” to the Middle Class? So, what happened to those of us who live BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL? What hit us? A SLEDGE HAMMER, sir, a sledge hammer. There are those of us who make less than $20,0000 a year, we barely get by, we scrape to make an existance. Scrape, I said? Try scraping until you hit rock, and then what do you do? The Middle Class serve a purpose, just as the rich do, but remember this, the poor working class Joe’s and Josephines out here in America also serve a purpose, we are the very backbone of this nation! We are the waitresses, the bartenders, the cleaning people and such, that keep your upper class types in the manner to which you have become accustumed to. We do what you who live better than us don’t do, either because you don’t want to, or don’t have to. And, some of you don’t know how to do what we do. We are the people who live in homes that cost under $100,0000. We are the people who drive those older cars and trucks you see on the streets and highways. We are the ones who have to find ways to pay for the gas to put in those cars and trucks, and get to those jobs that make your lives so comfortable. Yet, I do not hear the concern for we poor people here in America. It is as if we do not even exist. And I wonder why this is so. Without us, as without all the Mexican people who pick the fruits and vegetables in America, who would serve you those nice cold beers after a day at the golf course, or office, and who would serve you your dinners at those nice, high dollar resturants that you prefer? And tell me, who would clean your homes, and keep them nice, so that when you entertain guests, there would be no worry about how it looks? Who would look after your children, when you are off at work, or on a business trip, or out at a party somewhere? All of us who do these menial jobs should be worth some thought, don’t you think? There are more of us, who do even more of these menial jobs, without which, your lives would be very much different, and somewhat harder for you to maintain your status, than it is now, with those “lttle, poor, worker bees” such as myself and others like me, who do these jobs………jobs, which from all accounts, no one thinks of as important! The Middle Class? WIth out the “Lower Class” like myself, even the Middle Class people would have a much harder time, and I know this to be so, because I work for the same Middle Class, I clean houses, keeping things up for them, so that they can do what they do best themselves. I do not resent these people for having more than I do, I am deeply grateful that they do. For, without them, I would have no work! But, I often wonder why it is, that we poor folks seem to be so invisible to those of you who have so much more……….?
