Romney A Trojan Horse?

Donald Trump recently endorsed Mitt Romney, which came as a shock to many conservatives; Romney essentially is as liberal as Obama, but without the endless radical socialist and communist connections. However, to those who have followed World Net Daily, Jerome Corsi, and specifically Mr. Corsi’s book “Where’s the Birth Certificate?”, this came as no surprise.

As we all remember, in April of last year, Trump was dancing around the news talk circuit  like a peacock making noise about whether Obama had really been born in Hawaii, demanding that Obama release his long-form birth certificate. Meanwhile, he had been in contact with Jerome Corsi regarding his soon-to-be-released book, at one point requesting and obtaining from Corsi an advance copy. Additionally, before Corsi’s book was even released, it made the New York Times bestseller list.

As the media frenzy regarding Obama’s long-form birth certificate reached a fever pitch, on April 27, Obama released not the original certificate, but an electronic version of it. Subsequently, Trump famously exited one of his Trump helicopters and announced to the world that he “was proud” of himself for getting Obama to release his birth certificate.

The long-form birth certificate electronic file was quickly posted to left-wing websites, which touted its authenticity, but almost immediately questioned by graphic art experts on everything from its endless layers to the so-called “happy face” in the registrar’s signature. Oddly, Trump was silent on calling for the original birth certificate to be examined or questioning the anomalies in the electronic file. On May 17, Corsi’s book was released; one day later, Esquire published an article stating that because Obama had released his long-form birth certificate, and everything in Corsi’s book had been debunked, the publisher (World Net Daily) was recalling the book. This article stated that WND had “announced plans to recall and pulp the entire 200,000 first printing run of the book as well as announcing an offer to refund the purchase price to anyone who has already bought either a hard copy or electronic download of the book.” This information, the article stated, had been supplied by an “exclusive interview” with WND’s CEO Joseph Farah. Roughly two hours later, the author published an “update,” stating that the article was a satire: “We committed satire this morning to point out the problems with selling and marketing a book that has had its core premise and reason to exist gutted by the news cycle, several weeks in advance of its publication.” Meanwhile, many book outlets found the article not a satire at all and began pulling the book off its shelves; subsequently the publisher had to scramble to staunch the damage and is now in a legal battle for defamation.
It became clear very quickly that Trump’s call for the release of Obama’s birth certificate, Obama’s releasing of not the original but an electronic copy, and Esquire’s “satire” was an orchestrated preemptive strike to stave off the damage that Corsi’s book was going to create. Unlike many in the mainstream media who portrayed the book as “loony,” the book is meticulously researched and documented. It contains over one-hundred exhibits and covers everything from the problem of Obama’s birth hospital, to the fiction that Obama Sr. and Ann Dunham lived as man and wife, to an extensive discussion of the problem of Obama’s natural-born status.

It is obvious to many that the media frenzy that Trump created around the birth certificate was simply an extension of his hit show Celebrity Apprentice in more ways than one. Celebrity Apprentice is run on the NBC network, which has lavishly praised Obama from the 2008 primary on. NBC is owned by General Electric, which is a huge Obama donor and famously, under Obama, filed a 57,000 page return for 2010 on $14B in profits (and subsequently paid no taxes.) Trump also contributed $50,000 to former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s Chicago mayoral campaign; some speculate that he did so because Emanuel is pushing for casinos in Chicago, which will benefit Trump Industries. Further, Trump contributed to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s campaign against Tea Party favorite Sharron Angle. No, it should be crystal clear by now that Trump is no friend to conservatives. And with both the mainstream media and the Republican establishment calling Romney the “inevitable” Republican candidate, as they say, the fix is in.

Of course, the question is what side of the fix is Trump on? If we conclude that Trump played a leading role on stage opposite Obama in regard to the birth certificate and that the whole performance was in anticipation to staving off the damage of Corsi’s Where’s the Birth Certificate, then we must conclude that Obama wants to run against Romney. There are several possible reasons for this desire. Reason #1: He knows that there is little difference between himself and Romney ideologically (i.e., Obamacare versus Romneycare, gay marriage, etc.), and with Obama’s billion dollar campaign it will be an easy win. Reason # 2: Romney, being worth a quarter of a billion dollars and paying less than a fifteen percent tax rate last year, would fit perfectly into Obama’s class warfare/tax the rich rhetoric; subsequently, he would be slaughtered with a media smear campaign. Reason #3: If one wants to join the conspiracy theorists,  Romney is part of the fix, he is in on the game, and Trump is simply the wheels of the Trojan Horse Romney.
