Robertson Clan Responds To A&E Suspension

The Robertson family, which stars in A&E’s breakout hit series “Duck Dynasty,” has released an official statement in response to the network’s suspension of patriarch Phil. After the Louisiana preacher expressed a biblical view of homosexuality in a recent interview, A&E executives capitulated to gay lobbyists by suspending him indefinitely.

The show has amassed a loyal audience of millions, making “Duck Dynasty” cable’s highest-rated reality program. These fans have become increasingly vocal in their support of Robertson’s comments and their outrage over his subsequent punishment. The Western Center for Journalism has been active in giving these fans a voice through a petition sent directly to network executives and a dedicated Facebook page that has already attracted thousands of “likes.”

The family thanked supporters for their prayers over the past few days via a statement on the Duck Commando website. The duck call manufacturing company Phil founded, which has since been handed down to his son, Willie, was the basis for the smash hit program and countless promotional items for sale in retailers nationwide.

“The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E’s decision,” the statement confirmed. “We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word.”

While the family concedes some of Phil’s comments were “unfiltered” and “coarse,” the statement unequivocally contends he made them based on a firm grasp of biblical principles.

“Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart’ and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself,’” the family wrote.

Though the Robertsons and A&E have “had a successful working relationship,” the statement concludes the family “cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm.”

Prior reports indicate the network failed in its attempt to strip the name of Jesus from a prayer that ends each episode. This latest attack on the family’s Christian values, however, might mean the end of the show as fans know it.

“We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty,” the statement read. “Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.”

No matter what network executives decide, this family – led by an unwavering faith in God – shows no signs of straying from their current path of encouraging and entertaining America.

Phil Robertson was expressing his personal, religious beliefs that many millions of Americans happen to share. It is an outrage that you have suspended him from the show, Duck Dynasty, for his religious beliefs regarding marriage and faith (Violating his First Amendment Rights!). We are calling for Phil to be re-instated and for an apology to be issued to him immediately. I will watch the show from now on, only if you bring Paul back. AND you fags and lesbos ARE disgusting. I am surprised he didn't ask you faggots, what it feels like when you suck and pull on a cock with your mouth, until cum gushes into your mouth and you gag while your gay buddy is holding your head on his cock.
