Rising Star Rips Radical Feminists With Just Five Words

Shailene Woodley is one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising female stars after portraying the lead character in the recent big screen adaptation of “Divergent.” Though her character, showcasing all the bravery of any action movie hero, could be used to rally women for the feminist cause, Woodley offered a pragmatic answer in a recent interview when asked if she buys into that ideology.

“No, because I love men,” she explained.

Woodley went on to describe feminism as “the idea of ‘raise women to power, take the men away from power,’” suggesting such a worldview “is never going to work out because you need balance.”

Far from a shrinking violet when touting the contributions her gender has made, the actress simply has a different way of expressing herself than most modern feminists.

“My biggest thing is really sisterhood more than feminism,” she explained. “I don’t know how we as women expect men to respect us because we don’t even seem to respect each other. There’s so much jealousy, so much comparison and envy.”

Nevertheless, because she doesn’t want to bring men down in the pursuit of advancing women, Woodley has been pilloried by some in the leftist media.

A Huffington Post article, for example, described the actress as “misinformed” and her comments “disappointing.”

Writer Nina Bahadur, “a card-carrying feminist,” concluded that it is “dangerous to perpetuate the idea that women who fight for equality of the sexes are man-haters.”

In reality, though, it seems equality is exactly what Woodley’s outlook supports. Perhaps Bahadur doesn’t hate men; but writer Octavia Sheepshanks reported – also on the Huffington Post, by the way – that there are plenty within the movement who do.

Woodley envisions a world in which men and women hold positions of power, explaining that such a “fine balance” is integral and concluding “that if men went down and women rose to power, that wouldn’t work either.”

  1. Men from what I see now no longer treat women with respect and deference, the times when , Let me get the door are no more, shut up bitch has replaced decency and the women complain about their lot in life after they have tried to draw away the very thing that men enjoyed doing to show his girl how special she was..it's like a premeditated course in preview nagging and how to act irritating…..the men took the bait….
