Impeach Obama Campaign

Ralph Nader Will Organize 2012 Primary Challengers Against Obama

Jennifer Epstein, Politco.com

Ralph Nader is convinced that Barack Obama will win reelection in 2012, but that won’t stop him from trying to organize a slate of Democrats in the coming months to challenge the president in party primaries next year.

Nader told POLITICO on Wednesday that he is working on bringing together about half a dozen presidential candidates who could “dramatically expand a robust discussion within the Democratic Party and among progressive voters across the country.” Each would focus on a specific issue where the far left says Obama hasn’t done enough, including the environment, labor and health care.

In an op-ed published Wednesday morning by Bloomberg News, Nader laid out the argument that…Obama is “really in a very, very powerful position” to win reelection, Nader told POLITICO, and the slate of candidates wouldn’t be meant to give Obama a serious challenge for the Democratic nomination, but instead to “structurally pull him in the opposite direction” than he’s taken since his 2008 campaign.

If there was a group of people from the president’s own party geared up to debate him in Iowa and New Hampshire, “it is harder for him to say no,” Nader said. “His strategists can say, ‘Don’t fight it, Barack; use it, revel in it; you’re good on your feet.”

Then I am moving out of the country! If our government can't enforce this man to be removed and charged with treason and tyranny then I find our country very pathetic and some of the people to be very stupid for keeping this man in. Laws are laws and when they don't follow them they should be convicted. Obama is not a president that I would want to re-elect. The only way he will win is by fraud! ARREST HIM ALREADY! HE IS NOT FIT TO BE OUR F ING PRESIDENT!

    • Jesse Ramon says:

Republicans share the same feelings my friend, unfortunately, all of you can't support one argument about our President who obviously is the only president that actually wants to help this country. Have you ever considered reading a book to expand your vocabulary in order to process a few thoughts which could be interpreted as accepted intelligence. Aside from being a capitalist. By the way, if you consider on leaving this great country of ours which I became a disabled veteran defending, …. Don't let the door kick you in the a– on the way out! AND thank you for helping us rid of one more varment. Simper-Fidelis.

GTFOH… Nader is a USELESS CORPORATE CLOWN that works for the GOP. He is most likely funded by the Kochtopus or some other corporate entity as equally disgusting. Wake the (bleep) UP folks!

Look at this deceitful frame: "Each would focus on a specific issue where the far left says Obama hasn’t done enough, including the environment, labor and health care." Labor is not a far left issue — those protests were full of middle-class Americans who understand that both parties serve business interests to the detriment of we the people. This is a propaganda meme meant to divide us from each other. Now we must approvingly accept oligarchical corporate rule, torture, perpetual war, ecological destruction, the Police State Patriot Act, Wall Street criminality, electoral bribery, the mass slaughter of other people's children in resource rich or strategically desirable countries, etc. Anything else is maligned as "far left."

  9. valerie says:

Having somone run against Obama in the Primaries might just give him the kick he needs to fight for his country if he thinks someone else could win. Compitition is always good and in some cases essential.

    Fuck Ralph Nader.
    He's a child.
    GO OBAMA 2012!

Mr.Nader,This is the one election where you can win.The people will not elect a republican.Running against Obama will not result in the election of a republican, even if you lose[and you wont].When pitted against the republican and democratic agendas,Your's no longer look's radical. You can save this country. If you do not you will become one who could have butt didn't.And your view 's will not find any balance in this election. You must stop fractionated banking at the fed level. This can eliminate 90% of the interest owed in the death .Compared with the end of social security this dose not seem radical.End all free trade agreement's and raise import fee's to balance trade.Resend the patriot act and return or right's.Establish a government new's station and campaign trail to stop donation's ,also too see the real new's even if it is sick. These idea's are no longer radical. Now this is a radical idea,A constitutional amendment that state's .That all bill's past by congress and signed by the president, must then be put too the democratic vote of the people.Technology make's our constitutional guarantee of a representative form of government obsolete .Government must evolve as it was intended .The people should have the right to decide what burden they must live under.I have so much more to say.If you reed this Mr. Nader I thank you for your pationt's.Robert Pauly

  12. MIKE says:

Ralph either you run or convince Kucinich to run. Our government is no longer owned by the People but by corporations and big money interests. The American people need real leadership. Obama is a great talker but what has he DONE really? Not much. We need a DOER not a talker. The progressives need to adopt a scorch and burn aggressive policy of getting the job done, even if there are unwelcome casualties (figuratively speaking). Obama is a sellout and ineffectual, he has shown that repeatedly. DOn’t adopt the self-fufilling thinking that he cannot lose. We need someone better. We need someone who represents the common man, not big business, not the military-industrial complex, not big oil.

  13. Peter Maslow says:

I really wish Nader would return to his roots and organize the "power within American consumers" to fight back
against "organized political crime" and corporate America.
We need to organize Consumer Holidays, whereby Americans stay away from stores and gas stations.
The only power left is monetary and we desperately need a leader, who can organize "the first consumer holiday".

  14. steve morrill says:

A vote for you is a republican vote again

  15. Joan Herczeg says:

Ralph Nader, If you had not "run" or had dropped out of the 2000 election, Bush/Cheney could not have stolen Florida. It was the beginning of the downfall of our democracy. Al Gore may have even taken the warnings about 9-11 seriously. That';s debatable but certainly Iraq and torture are not. Now you're out to destroy Obama, along with the Republicans, in 2012. Money is buying our country and our elections. The Republicans DO NOT NEED HELP FROM YOU. You have become too dangerous at any, all, levels. You should be ashamed.
    Sincerely, Joan Herczeg,MSW

First what the hell are you going to impeach him for? Second screw Ralph Nader, if it wasn't for his foolish ass we would never had 8 years of W, two wars that are unpaid for, two huge unpaid for tax giveaways, and a huge medicaid giveaway. 5.6 trillion in total. Answer me this who should pay for these wars, the working poor are already forced to fight these wars because of Bushes ridiculous economic polices, or those who profited so greatly from the wars. Who should pay for these wars, you idiot can never answer these questions. Because you know who should and ya just can't admit your wrong. Wanting to impeach the President is the most stupid and time wasting thing anyone can do. Grow up!

  17. guest says:

Please stay the hell out of this, haven't you done enough damage to this country!

  18. Deb Gray says:

Whomever on this comment board thinks that Obama has more experience and honesty than Ralph Nader should go back to their doctor and tell them to 10 fold their medication because whatever they are on is NOT WORKING!

RN has a history, decades of helping the public in the US and the world, and before you down RN I think you should put on your reading glasses and READ some history of the auto industry and the comsumer's protection that he changed without a whole lot of support. It was Ralph Nader that made the auto industry change and we have cars that don't turn over, lead paint issues that saved millions of kids from brain damage, and many more things that he didn't take a ''star'' position and mingle with the 'power hungry' of Washington.

READ HISTORY BEFORE YOU DESTROY HIM.

  19. impeachobamanow says:

Nobama's takin more money from wall street bastards than all of the politicians combined. How about job creation China man. he's a friggin failure. He's done NOTHING but divide the whole country. How about the justice department selling guns to criminals. You think Nobama didn't know about that? How about 535 million wasted, gone , out the window on the Solyanda deal. Everything he touches turns to crap. He's a joke and most everybody knows. You think the independents are gonna vote for this fraud this time. No way in hell will they make the same mistake twice.

  20. Rick Saffery says:

I hope Mr. Nader runs in 2012. We need as many divergent voices in this presidential election cycle as possible.

It's interesting that many of the comments to this post don't have much to say about Nader. Rather they're focused on Obama and Bush. Here's what I have to say about that tangent.

    Obama 1.0 = Bush 3.0

Obama has continued all of Bush's bad policies, ALL of them.

Bush and Obama are big spenders. Obama spends MORE.
Bush and Obama are war mongers. Obama continues Bush wars and gets us in to MORE wars.
Bush and Obama support and extend the patriot act. Obama gives government surveillance MORE power.
Bush and Obama maintain Gitmo, rendition and torture. Obama kills MORE Americans with executive order.

The one big departure between these men is that US sovereign debt quality was downgraded on Obama's watch.

Anyone that hated George Bush should hate Obama too if they're honest. It's only racism that makes someone hate one and like the other because these men pushed similarly bad policy.

  21. Doug Mac Donald says:

About 2 monhs ago, RN was on CNN & stated that he was going to contact 100 prominent Dem. contributors with the idea to find a Dem. opponent to Pres. Obama to challenge him the the coming primaries. What has happened to that idea? Does RN thnik that we can "draft" a Dem. such as Hillary Clinton (with Bill standing beside her) to run as a candidate?

  22. anneshelby says:

Obama voted against war. We would not be in the mess we are in if we would have listened to him.

Go Nader!!! Best people in the House for America are being pushed out. Im goin with the underdogs all the way!!

  24. Left-rightAlliance says:

What amazes me is how many CRITICAL issues Dr Ron Paul and Ralph Nader agree on:
No more endless war policing an empire.
No more Patriot Act police state suppression of civil liberties.
No more drug war prosecution filling the jails.
No more money creation for private banks and TARP corporations at public expense.
    No more lobby-controlled governance.

Global policing / crony-capitalism is bankrupting the nation and putting our troops in harm. It is no wonder that Ron Paul gets more donations from members of the US Armed Forces than all other candidates combined.

Dr Paul and Mr Nader will disagree on a number of issues. Gold standard, environmental regulations and the size of the safety net come to mind. But if the nation goes broke or the dollar is inflated away, we will have neither clean air nor social security. We will all be burning whatever it takes to stay warm.

Save the nation, and we can debate the cost of environmental and social policy. We can resolve the monetary question of US greenbacks vs gold a lot easier if we are not spending trillions that we do not have.

Ron Paul / Ralph Nader is the last hope ticket for saving the USA from overextended empire collapse.

  25. Jen says:

Hell yes! This is the one time when Ralph would win if he ran.
People don't want to vote for this spineless president or an opportunist
    like Romney.
