Two years ago, Cap and Trade, known as Cap n Tax, was killed when the Waxman – Markey bill didn’t pass the House.
Now there is a surreptitious movement underway to pass a Carbon Tax. The American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a supposedly conservative group, got egg on its face when it hosted a meeting that was designed to push for a carbon tax in the lame-duck session this year.
The effort has been squelched by House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). They said no way and no.

Why do we need to listen to "think tanks?" How bright can they be when they need to think in Groups? Get rid of think tanks which sounds more like a new way to create a job for people who can't get one on their own. Carbon tax will kill off the Republicans, I would never vote for one again and I am a Republican. I think there are more rinos in office than Republicans anyway, I say scrap the think tanks, who are they? lets do our own thinking and I know we will come to the conclusion that Henry Waxman, who was being inbvestigated for unAmerican activities back in the 70's along with Nancy Pelosi, in NY, Ted Kennedy put a stop ot the investigation or they would have been arrested, instead we have Republicans voting yes on his Carbon tax. Unbelievable. I guess the think tank didn't think about that. or know about it or care about it .
