Of Protests and Privilege

Protest trenton
Martin Luther King Jr. did it, Buddhist priests did it, hippies did it, anti-war folks did it , bikers did it recently, truckers are doing it now and in fairly short order the nation itself will rise up in protest. The commonality of protest in this day and age does not differ markedly from that of earlier generations and causes. It always seems to be about government taking away from some and giving to others.
The Revolutionary War was about a ruling and far flung elite making demands on a people that were outrageous, unfair and even by the standards of British Common Law, illegal. It didn’t help that the ruler of the day was insane. The overthrow of that regime is now lauded as a brave and righteous stand for liberty and freedom by brave men and women who counted the cost and did it anyway.
So what of the recent protests and where things are going? The title of this missive gives it away to a degree. The righteous notion of the Robin Hood class of elites is to “take from the rich and give to the poor”, at least that is what the mantra would have us believe. What is quite obvious is that as the money flows from “them” to “us”, many filters are employed to skim off the “taxes” and benefit some at the expense of the taxpayer. The immensity of the skim is what sticks in the craw as it were and the layers upon layers of laws and regulations that support the money grab and aid in the “redistribution” of the taxpayers wealth adds to the apparent unfairness of it all. New twists are being added that show us clearly the course that different levels of government have decided on to “silence” the taxpaying public. Note that I have used taxpayers in the sentences multiple times and here is the reason why. As long as you pay the taxes there are others who benefit from those taxes that flow into their pockets. Whether they work for the money or benefits or not is determined by a bureaucracy that until recently we could count on to be at least impartial if not “just or fair” in its application of law and regulation.
And that brings me to the reality of today. Fairness has been turned on its head and has been twisted into a weapon against the haves (aka – taxpayers) and is used by the elites to silence the taxpayers when the demands of the fairness/equity/redistribution Marxists are sounded throughout the land. “We the People” lived through this before, recognize it for what it is, tyranny, and are protesting the ruination of the Republic through a government that ignores the Constitution and the Rule of Law. So small protests turn into larger ones. Independents like bikers and truckers suddenly organize themselves loosely in protest and the media stomps all over it, attempts to steal or change the message, and the oligarchs in Washington DC plot and plan how to make any protest “hurt”.
Our “betters”, our “rulers” have overplayed their hand. The live lives of ease and seeming entitlement only because we the people have placed at great trust in their hands. They have clearly betrayed that trust and are in need or “correction” and “re-alignment” with the principles of the Constitution (which they currently ignore) and the Rule of Law which if applied correctly would see some of those “rulers” jailed and even hanged for treason.
We the People are not amused with what we see taking place in the undermining of the Constitutional Republic that we pledge fealty to and will rise up in a protest that might just make the Founding Fathers shout with joy in seeing their spirit re-awakened and their resolve rekindled. Let’s remember the justice that was meted out to Benedict Arnold for his betrayal of the nation. Is your collar feeling a little tight Mr. Obama?

It is my fondest hope that we start to see commercial airline pilots, private jet pilots, longshoremen, tugboat captains, UPS and Fed-Ex delivery drivers, limousine drivers, taxi drivers, train engineers, subway drivers, city bus drivers, school bus drivers, and even sanitation workers join truckers nationwide in a threatened national strike if they do not get rid of Obama and Obamacare by a certain deadline. It's time for We the People to give these SOB's our version of a "red line in the sand" they had better not cross. These criminals in DC look forward every Friday afternoon to their plane ride back to their district. Imagine how pissed they would be if they can't make it back home!
