Values: The president’s coming out in favor of gay marriage shows he’s to the left of most black Americans — and willing to throw his most loyal backers under the gay pride float.
Under pressure to assuage the gay lobby and young voters ahead of November, Obama on Wednesday told ABC News “it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married.”
By finally taking the controversial stance, which won’t go over well in the black community, he’s clearly counting on African-American voters remaining loyal to him this election out of racial pride and a habit of voting Democrat.
But he may have miscalculated.
Gay marriage is highly unpopular among black voters — and he’ll need every one of them to beat presumptive GOP foe Mitt Romney.

Well, he can flap those lips and say that he “evolved”, but anyone with half a brain, deaf and blind, could figure out the real reason he “evolved” into this decision………he did it for political reasons! To try and get the votes of the homosexual bunch. He will use them as he used the young people in 2008, and then throw them “under the bus” too. Young people really beleived that he was going to make sure that they had jobs, and that life for them was going to be a “bed of roses”. He “snake charmed them all”. And the older generation who so wanted to “prove how nonracist” they all were, they too, were used. I asked on older woman “WHY DID YOU VOTE FOR THIS THING?” Her answer was “because he said change, and we need change”! So I asked her if she gave any thought as to what he meant by that word. She said no, she had not considered it something to worry about. That was my first question when I heard him say that word “change”, exactly what does he MEAN by “change”? Change is not always to or for the good of us, and we need more questioning minds so as to avoid another such disaster, fiasco in our so called “government”. We no longer have a Government, we have a court of fools and liars! Add to those two, a Court of TRAITORS! anyone who is an incumbENT, vote them OUT!
Obama is now on record as being on the opposite side of the same-sex marriage issue as not only the overwhelming percentage of African-Americans but, and I’d say moreover, the overwhelming percentage of all Americans who have voted to ban legalizing same-sex marriage everytime, 32 for 32, they’ve been able to vote on it since 1988.
