I was going to write about the Trayvon Martin case when it first broke, but decided to hold off until the facts were released. However, I’m not holding my breath on that front. I’m not going to comment on whether George Zimmerman was attacked first and acted in self-defense. Likewise, I’m not going to go into whether this was a racial shooting. This is a tragic incident where a young man was cut down in his prime, and many people are asking why. Unfortunately, the people asking those questions are the same folks that have stirred up racial tensions in the past. Additionally, the media bias involved is denying closure to this shooting.
Al Sharpton has caused trouble with his participation in a Trayvon rally and then reporting about it on his show on MSNBC. Can you say liberal bias? The New Black Panther Party offered a $10,000 bounty on George Zimmerman’s head, and Spike Lee tweeted the wrong address for Zimmerman’s home to his followers. Does “Do The Right Thing” ring a bell? This is not how facts are collected. Sadly, with all of the hysterics, I don’t think we will ever know what really happened that day when George Zimmerman followed and eventually shot Trayvon Martin.
What is clear is that the usual folks are off to the races in judgement and planning political games. Liberals are the only ones politicizing this tragedy for their own benefit. Joe Biden wants to use this tragedy as a launch pad to have a national dialogue about gun control. However, Ben Jealous, President of the NAACP, has said the gun laws and Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law are not points of contention in this incident. What I fear is that 2012 will be bogged down into another useless, nonsensical lecture about race by the academic elite. However, liberals seem to have a fetishistic agenda in casting George Zimmerman as a racist.
The first instance of the left’s campaign to smear Zimmerman appeared when Reuters labeled him a “white hispanic,” a curious phrase that makes my brain hemorrhage. We still don’t know with all of the hyper emotionality surrounding the shooting, but the liberal media lusts at the notion of making it one. A hispanic man shooting a black man is an incident that doesn’t grab media attention, but a white on black crime gets everyone in a frenzy. Just look at the editing of the the 911 tape which NBC ignominiously edited to make Zimmerman look like a racist.

Here’s what NBC aired and claimed Zimmerman said:
“This guy looks like he’s up to no good…he looks black.”
Here’s what Zimmerman actually said:
Zimmerman: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good, or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.”
911 Dispacher: “Okay, is this guy, is he white, black, or Hispanic?”
Zimmerman: “He looks black.”
Then there was the police video which at first showed Zimmerman with no head injuries whatsoever, which prompted Bill Maher to call him a “big fat f**king liar.” However, enhanced video shows that Zimmerman does have head injuries allegedly sustained at the hands of Trayvon Martin. What’s with the editing? Is the liberal media trying to create a false incident to re-energize a core group of the president’s re-election campaign? Regardless of the motivations, the editing and misinformation concerning this tragedy are more nauseating incidents of media bias that mirror the Duke Lacrosse scandal. An interesting development, since that was, as reiterated by George Will, another instance when everyone had their own opinions about a case and everyone turned out to be wrong. Tread carefully, folks.

Matt-Too much has already been "proclaimed" by the "race baiters" that are so publicly visible – -all trying to convince US that a "white" person intentionally "murdered" a "black kid". As more information comes out, we see a more clear picture of what "really" happened. You noticed how "quickly" the "lamestream media" jumped all over this – -LESS THAN 24 hours!!
NO ONE, not even you, has said a single word about the elderly (white) couple, in Tulsa, that were attacked by a "black thug (s)" last month. Why do you suppose that is? Because the victims are "white" are they NOT worth mentioning?? How very sad!
George Stein is a WWII hero; he and his beloved wife, Nancy, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last December! Last month, Nancy (85) was raped and murdered; George (90) was beaten, almost to death – -for what? The thugs stole their car, the tv and $200 in cash – -that's all Nancy's life was worth to them! Their family doesn't even begin to know "how" they will tell George what happened to his sweet wife – - IF he ever regains consciousness!
Skin color should have NOTHING to do with a "journalist's" duty, or ability to REPORT THE TRUTH! I use the term journalist loosely – -most of these individuals are, merely, "promoters of propaganda"!

NBC news should have had their license revoked for such irresponsible reporting. It just goes to show how far these media liberals will go to make a point, even if it is nothing but a fabrication for sensationalism. How many more blacks have been shot or brutally murdered and not a peep has been sensationlized through the media. Let's hope this trashy reporting gets its' due. Some one needs to held accountable for their lack of self discipline. Oh, by the way, didn't Obama say if he had a boy he would look like Trayvon – a gang member and drug carrier. Open your mouth, Barack and insert your foot! Maybe you should get the facts straight before you begin stoking the racial fires…………..

His mother was so bereaved al lshe was worried about was trademarking his name so she could make money off the incident. The (I use the term loosely) President once again weighed in without any knowledge of the facts. The hypocrtical hysteria continues to be falsely built to a fever pitch in spite of the facts coming to light. Not one person in a position of power and authority is doing one thing to quell the mindless idiots from their fake rage. All this is just another log on the fire fanning the flames for The Second American Civil War.
