LOS ANGELES (Official Wire) — The nation’s largest union of government workers has chosen a new leader as its members grapple with efforts around the country to weaken labor rights or cut public employee pensions and benefits.
Lee Saunders was elected president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. He had been the union’s No. 2 official and becomes its first African-American president.
Saunders takes over from Gerald McEntee, the legendary leader who over 31 years built the union into a political powerhouse. Saunders says he wants to mobilize members to better promote the work that public servants do. The union has about 1.3 million active members, but has lost about 10 percent of its ranks since 2009.

Doesn't matter what they call him or how he is refered to, the government unions are not legal, they are to be decertified and the American taxpayer will have the voting representation restored…….there will be more to come after this coming election…
As I said, in a prior comment, these blacks would rather be “africans” than Americans, and this one just proved it…the “First African” American…………see where the “african” is, and where AMERICAN SITS? This is OFFENSIVE! Either you are an AMERICAN OR YOU ARE NOT!!!!!!! AND THIS ONE IS NOT, BY HIS OWN PREFERANCE OF BEING “african” FIRST!!!!!!!!! So, yes the writer of this article calls him this, but it is by the elected official’s desire, I have to conclude. This “every nationality first” before American does not wash with me.
Today we elect every black person running for everything because the press makes the white feel guilty about slavery and what hurts is that whites fall for this shit otherwise we would have had a capable person wether it was Hitlary or Senor McCain in the white house not some oreo cummunity gang leader as president.
