When asked why the Obama administration opposes drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) given the rising cost of gasoline, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar told CNSNews.com that the “drill, baby, drill program” is not going to lead the United States to energy independence.
CNSNews.com asked Salazar, “Given the rising cost of gasoline why is the administration opposed to drilling in the arctic refuge?”
“We don’t believe that you need to drill everywhere and we don’t believe that the ‘drill, baby, drill’ program is the way that’s going to get us to the energy independence that we need for America or that will power our economy and that’s why the President has been so clear from day one and we in the Department of Interior have been so clear that what we need to do is need to have a robust energy program that includes a number of different sources of energy and while yes, we are pushing forward with oil and gas development both offshore and onshore which was the subject of much of the hearing today, we’re also moving forward with renewable energy,” he told CNSNews.com after testifying before the House Natural Resources Committee about his Department’s FY2012 budget.

Ken Salazar is no better at his job that Big Sis is at her job. As a matter of fact no one who Obama has appointed is good at their job and in most cases they are Communist. To drill in this country would stop the marxist destruction of the United States energy independence started by President Carter and done by Henry Kissinger delivering the world oil supply lead to the Arabs and promising to not have any new oil or refineries in the USA if the Arabs only use dollars for world oil.
Then the democrat congress and Carter started the enegy department which has taken us from 22% dependent on foriegn energy to 68% dependent.
Obama will take us to higher dependence by now stopping new and old approved drilling in the coastal waters and buying oil, gas and coal land in the USA to stop all drilling and mining.
We have all the oil and gas and coal we need for the next 300 or more years to become and industrial giant again and raise the standard of living for us and the world.
