Insider Says ObamaCare Site Should Be Completely Rebuilt

Obamacare Rollout

Despite administration claims the kinks are slowly being worked out of the ObamaCare enrollment website, lingering concerns about user security led one official to recommend scrapping the troubled site and starting anew.

Republican Rep. Mike Rogers, who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, recently indicated he believes criminals could use weaknesses in healthcare.gov system to gain access to individuals’ private information.

“I know that they’ve called in another private entity to try to help with the security of it,” he said in an interview Sunday. “The problem is, they may have to redesign the entire system.”

Rogers said security risks are an inherent risk because of “the way the system is designed,” noting seven separate federal government agencies have access and administrative power over distinct areas of the site. The porous nature of that setup, he explained, increases the possibility of personal data being swiped by a cyber criminal.

That aspect, he added, is the “weakest, most vulnerable part” of the site, adding “it was clear to me they don’t have those boundaries secure.”

While federal sources, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, claimed the site was developed with security in mind, Rogers said its design leaves many concerns unaddressed.

Americans — including about 700,000 who have already submitted applications — were told the site would not store personal data, though many find that claim hard to believe.

Rogers noted the site and agencies involved in its implementation would “have to store your application at some point,” citing his concern “that they do not have an overarching, solid cybersecurity plan to prevent the loss of private information.”

After spending an outrageous amount of taxpayer money to develop a site for a product the majority of Americans don’t want, the administration is trying desperately to save face as healthcare.org continues to falter. With the added danger of identity theft identified by Rogers and others, there seems little chance to reverse public opinion.

  1. That's a GREAT idea !
Let spend another $634,000,000 on a program that would cost $1,000,000 to create & lets use another NON-US company.

  2. STICK IN THE GRAVE YARD, IT HAS COST THE TAXPAYERS 764 MILLION TO GET A SITE THAT DOESN'T WORK I CAN EVEN BEGIN TO IMAGINE HOW MUCH MORE IT WILL TO TRY TO GET ONE THAT WORKS.
I WOULD SAY THAT IT IS A SIGN FROM THE LORD THAT WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE AT ALL.

  3. Just scrap the entire bill and re-write (but, O and Nan won't allow that to happen). If the website is going to be rebuilt, as a taxpayer i will demand my congressmen get the money back from whomever got the money from the unproductive and inoperative site

  4. We have great American Technologies companies right here, so why go outside the Country and spend over 600 million and out source tech jobs? and to add insult to injury it doesn’t even work. Everything King O touches he destroys, oh well that is what he does best.

Linda I'm for giving US companies first shot but from what I understand that this Canadian company was told how to do it by Pressed head Sebelius. As you know Obutthole didn't know anything about it which is par for the course. Tye Jabony doesn't know much about anything except vacations and golf.

      • Hi Edward,
every time something goes wrong with any of his pet projects, he never seems to know anything, you know it is some else's fault, yea right. When is this man/child ever going to take responsibility? If you or I work in a private company and screwed things up all the time costing the company hundreds of millions and had this attitude we would had been fired.

  5. Seeks_the_truth says:

How about just scrap the entire obamacare bill? Let's go back to private industries offering insurance to those who want or need it.

This entire system was to force others to pay for high premiums some are paying for their 'Cadillac' policies or for existing health problems.
All we got was an 86% rise in Medicaid recipients.

Burn the entire thing until even the ashes are blown away. It probably take a week to burn it in a furnace.

    • Edwardkoziol says:

I'm with you there scrap the whole thing but somewhere along the the line you have to tell insurance companies that just drop you when you put in a claim or get sick.

      • Seeks_the_truth says:

Insurance companies can't drop your coverage when you get sick or file a claim. In fact, if you start treatment for a sickness, say cancer, and you lose your job the insurance MUST continue to cover all treatments until you are cured or die without a rise in the premium.
Now after they can raise your premium to cover possible future costs.

Same as car insurance. If you are a safe driver, your premium stays about the same. It rises according to how many 'bad' drivers they have to cover in your area. Now if you are accident prone, your premium automatically jumps, and rightfully so.

That's what obamacare is all about. Forcing others to supplement the premiums of high risk or those with a 'Cadillac' plan that don't want to 'pay' the price for it.

  6. Edwardkoziol says:

Insiders don't give a damn about spending more because it isn't their money being spent.

  7. With all due respect to Rep. Mike Rogers, I can't help but wonder why we are offering ideas to help the progressives improve the website? Repubs who are not in the true conservative camp often have a way of rescuing those who want to destroy us. They snatch away the rope that would hang these subversives.

  8. MuslimLuvChrist says:

So most of Obama’s cronies pocketed the $635 million, and since this website is so fuuking impotent they need to AGAIN, throw good money after bad money just like his illegal liberal kickbacks!
