There are plenty of things wrong with America. None of them will get fixed as long we deal with the symptoms and ignore the problem. Do we really know what America’s problems are? Or are we just dealing with their symptoms? Alleviating the symptoms won’t fix the problems. We are the problem. The symptoms are our debt, our government, the rich, the poor, Republicans, Democrats, the politicians, and any other current complaint of why things aren’t the way they should be. If things aren’t the way they should be, it is up to “We the People” to fix the U.S.
To start fixing US, we must learn who we are. America is a country that was created to govern itself, a republic. To govern ourselves, our Founding Fathers wrote a binding legal document, our Constitution, to limit the power of our government. Our Constitution also, just as importantly, limits the power of the men and women we have temporarily chosen to be our government. The idea of being an elected official as someone’s career is an unintended consequence of the War Between the States (but that is the subject for another discussion.) Career politicians are one of the biggest symptoms of our problem. As John Madison said “All men having power ought to be distrusted to a certain degree.” The men he worked with were far more trustworthy than those currently in power.
America was a country where people built and planned for tomorrow, a country where the idea of saving money for a rainy day was important. America was a country where our elected officials were bound by our Constitution. The idea that it could be interpreted rather than amended was repugnant to our elected officials. They knew that their power was limited by our Constitution. When they ceased to be citizens first and politicians second, that is when they ceased to be bound by our Constitution.
We are the problem, and we are the solution. To start implementing the solution, we must stop voting for incumbents. We must demand that our elected officials start repealing laws. We must stop believing that the solution comes from bureaucrats in Washington. D.C. The mess we are in was not created in one election cycle, nor was it created by one presidential administration. It was created over the years as we slowly traded our freedom for government programs that promised to take care of us. America was a country built on self-reliance and individual courage. That is the solution, a return to being a country of self-reliant individuals. Do we have the courage to do that? I definitely hope that we do!

The only way to fix America is to get rid of the current house and senate members (at least most of them) and Obama
Definitely get rid of Obama and that gets rid of all his corrupted cronies. ThaT would be GREAT START.
Ushering in Romney and his cronies is not the answer either. We must stand for the U.S. Constitution and nothing less. That means we support only those candidates who will serve "We the People" beginning with Ron Paul.
I am becoming seriously concerned that we may actually not have elections at all this year. We have a Congress, House of Reps and a Senate who appear to be desperately afraid of challenging any of Obama's decisions. We have a Supreme Court … and, apparently, a plethora of state judges … who can either be bought or strong-armed into goose-stepping right along with Obama's plans. We have a Judicial System that refuses to enforce the will of Congress. It may well fall to the average person (who works all day in an office, or as a teacher, or as a doctor/nurse and comes home to make supper, do the laundry, etc.,) to take their guns, ammo and walk into the streets of their towns to face down the foreign anti-American military forces who may come driving in as Obama declares martial law. Americans have never been so ill-suited to defend what is at stake.
true. 5-1-12 obummer bypassed Congress and signed an Executive Order that allows the United Nations to bring Foreign Troops into the USA into our homes to confiscate guns, rifles,etc.
Since then he has bypassed Congress and signed another Executiver Order that in case Martial Law in declared – he will be in Complete Control of the USA.

Patriot Lady, I beleive you are correct in that it is going to be up to us, those of us who have the balls, and the courage enough to walk our streets and face those who may come from the DICK tator’s orders, to take our freedoms away, along with ourselves to the camps and prisons…………..we may be ill suited to do this, but remember just how terribly ill suited our forefathers were when they went against the British and fought our First American Revolution. They did not have any training, few guns, hardly the clothes enough to keep them warm during those harsh winters during the fight, and a good deal of the time, they went withoug food. But it was either stand and fight for freedom, or bow under the rule of King George and British rule. Taxation, repression, all of it, these men had less than we have now to fight with, and less people at that. They went up against the Super Power of the day, and won, through sheer grit and determination to have a country where they could live as they chose to. We have a country to defend, it is our duty to do so, as our elected “officials” are not defending anything but their soft life styles, and comfortable homes. No one is going to defend us, so it is truly going to be up to us to defend ourselves. This evil that has infected our nation has to be eradicated, and so far, all it is doing is spreading even farther each time we take a breath. It is toxic, and it’s name is Barack HUSSAIN Obama, and it’s germs go by the name of Congress, The Senate, The House of Representitive, and the “supreme court”, a court of JESTERS! They are our enemies, and as such, we are going to have to rid ourselves of these home grown enemies within our nation, and within our Capitol. No one will do it, except We, The People of the United States of America. We, and we alone, are all that stands between ourselves and slavery of the worst kind! If we are not angry yet, we had better get good and angry, because it is time to become angry and stand up and do what is necessary for each one of us, and our children and grandchildren………and generations to come. LIVE FREE, OR DIE HARD, a very appropriate name for what we must do!!!!!
I also think you are correct,it seems we have nopoliticians or judges with balls to carry out out laws and rules anymore and that is a shame.Nobody wantsto go go against Obutthole the supreme dictator.

The problem is us. Turn off the TV and join or create a Tea Party. Get a copy of the Constitution and read it.

We must not give up! Our freedom is in the balance and compromise with those who chose to destroy this country is not an option. We must draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough! Any and everyone of our elected Republicans whom we elected to office and are betraying us by not standing up to the tyrant Obama and his supporters must be voted out of office.

It HAS been the land of opportunity, the land of milk and honey for all who are willing to WORK HARD and be self supporting. There is no other country like America. We have been exceptional; we have been strong; we have been the defenders of freedom all over the world; we have sacrificed our LIVES for freedom and for the freedom in countries that hate us and behead us! We are a Christian Nation. There is nothing wrong with America. Good article. There is so much truth in the idea of removing incumbents. Over the years of reelecting those Congressmen and Senators, they become entrenched in our system and with seniority, begin to lord over the very people who put them in office and our newly elected servants. Over the last four years, they, on both sides of the isle, did nothing while obama pilaged America. WE THE PEOPLE, should NEVER elect any non vetted political wannabee or accept the news media's choice of candidates. We can restore America by draining that swamp we call Washington DC from the White House on down to the State House this coming November. George Washington was chosen to be President because everyone knew that he loved America and could be trusted and even though he didn't want the job, he, as a patriot served his people. He turned down a third term. Today, many Politicians are in office to serve themselves. Case in point, obama.
Reject obomunists, marxist's, and all un-American groups this November and restore America to Her former greatness. Vote for a free and sovereign America.
