Historians agree empires and presidencies die from imperial overreach. Now Barack Obama’s closest allies in the Democratic Party, the far-Left, and the media are encouraging him to take actions that will lead inexorably to his impeachment. The president’s hubris and lawlessness seem destined to collide with Washington’s tense polemical atmosphere in a showdown that will put his presidency on the chopping block.
The leaders of the House Democratic Caucus this week urged the president to usurp Congressional authority and order the government to continue borrowing money, (mis)using the 14th Amendment. Caucus Chairman John Larson of Connecticut called the provision “the fail-safe option” to assure Republicans do not hold the American people hostage.” Larson added House Democrats are “prepared to stand behind” Obama all the way.
Congressman James Clyburn of South Carolina played the race card in justifying his call for an executive power grab:
I was joking to my staff the other day: “Tell me the bill number for the Emancipation Proclamation.” It was an executive order. We integrated the armed services by executive order. We integrated the public schools by executive order. Sometimes executives must order that things get done…If the president gets up to August 2 without a piece of legislation, he should not allow this country to go into default. He should sign an executive order invoking the 14th Amendment and send that to all the governmental agencies for us to continue to pay our bills.
This, Clyburn said, would “calm to the American people.”
He added, almost as an afterthought, “discussion about the legality of that can continue.”
Xavier Becerra, D-CA, went further. He said Obama had to raise the debt ceiling “just as the president took out Osama bin Laden in a way that some presidents wouldn’t have done it.” Thus, preserving big government spending from Republicans takes on the same moral urgency as saving America from al-Qaeda. Becerra sidestepped the legal issue altogether, saying, “The Republicans through their failure have given you license to do whatever it takes.”
The press conference was the most assertive lobbying for this dangerous course of action, which is enjoying increasingly broad support in both houses of Congress. Earlier this week Connecticut’s Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who defeated wrestling executive Linda McMahon in 2010, said the measure “might be something that arguably could be done in the face of genuine crisis, in the face of catastrophe.”
Other prominent party leaders have lent their rhetorical support, however dissembling. Bill Clinton lied that, if were he ever faced with an imminent government shutdown, he would act unilaterally “without hesitation, and force the courts to stop me.” (What was this, “Tweet to my 49-year-old self”?)
Ironically, as these Congressmen encouraged Obama to take unprecedented (and unconstitutional) power over the nation’s purse, Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz accused House Republicans of trying to impose a “dictatorship.”
The Democrats’ allies in the media have done their share to keep talk of this political crime alive….

I was looking for an old post and saw that title. Thing is, 98% of the time i believe the opposite 'bout the necessity o impeachment.
You can't impeach an illegal president. Arrest him and his gang of thugs for treason against the United States of America.
Impeachment will not get past the Senate, it's a waste of time to attempt to do so and will only make him more powerful when it fails.

Now John Boehner has added a super congress to the agreement, 12 men from both sides of the aisle, if there is such a thing, who will be able to do anything they want with Social security and Medicare, that has already been stolen so I dont' know why we need a super congress now, Obama said he wanted a super congress last week, why did Boehner give it to him? he should just kick him in the pants and say no deal and let them come up with a deal, they dont' seem to be doing that because Obama is missong in action, he is not involved in this. Obama has used executive order to put forth all of his bills so why shoudl this bne different, what we have here is a king, not a president. When it is found out he is a usurper, and it will, his executive orders will all be null and void.

That avoids foreign influence from the presidents family on the highest office in the land! Will someone please tell these Seantors that Social Security is not an entitlement. When you take money out of hard working peoples salaries, which is mandatory, try getting a job without a social security card, and promise them you will give it back when they retire , it is not an entitlement, , Welfare is an entitlement, Medicaid is an entitlement, Medicare is not, we pay for that too and that is also mandatory, they changed our personal private insurance payments without even aksing and replaced it with the medicare payments, we didn't ask for it. Obama took 500 billion from medicare for his Obama care , that doesnt' start until 2014 yet he took it now and we seem to be broke , we paid and we paid , it is not an entitlement, The Senators and the Congressmens retirement and free medical is an entitlement, we pay for that too. Let's face it, there is only one way our Country will be rid of the phony in the Whitehouse, sadly, NO ONE is going to to a damn thing about him, not a thing.
"When in the course of human events…" It is time once more to dissolve the form of government that we now have and return it to its proper station. We were never supposed to become a socialist state; we were never supposed to be "ruled" from Washington, and we were never supposed to have a non-American in the White House.
Every member of the Congress, the president, the vice president, and every soldier from private up to 4 star general, have all sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. Sadly, too many sitting in Congress today either lied when they took that oath (That is perjury) or they have forgotten it, or they did so in order to be in a position to give aid and comfort to our enemies. According to the Constitution Article III Section 3, that is treason. We need to start holding them accountable to the Constitution, not to opinion polls nor accountable to party ideology. If one commits an act of treason, they should be held accountable, plain and simple.
Maybe it is time to stop the insanity in Washington, DC by doing a total recall of all those espousing that Obama has the authority to do another illegal power grab by misusing the 14th amendment which would hold the American people hostage to paying for the insane spending of the federal government.
Forgive us for reminding you that there is a phrase in that 14th Amendment that says "authorized by law" and that all laws are supposed to originate in Congress. Perhaps charging the ones urging the destruction of our Constitution with "aiding and abetting" the fraud and treason of this illegal alien POTUS will send a loud and clear message to all that "We the People" will not be held hostage by an illegal alien usurper and the continued insanity of those who would "spend us out of debt". Hands off "Big Brother".
We the People" are tired of lies and threats to cut military salaries, SSN, etc. instead of cutting where the problem is. No more debt to send our troops into wars without authority, no more funds to the UN or to WHO for distributing to poorer countries, and no more federal government funding of illegal and criminal actions such as the gun running "fast and furious" program. Start cutting spending where it needs to be done. Quit adding to the national debt by adding to the federal payroll with more superfluous bureaus, agencies and programs than we already have. This administration has done nothing to improve our economy, but much to destroy it. Every elected official in Washington, DC has failed us miserably and the biggest lie all of you have told is the "lip service" of swearing to protect and support our Constitution. TOO MUCH already! STOP the "self-serving lip service" and try to dredge up some tinge of "public service".
We are tired of hearing we need to increase taxes to help our poor children and elderly senior citizens. To date, we have only seen higher taxes, but the poor remain poor and the elderly are still elderly and living on set incomes. The only ones that seem to benefit from those higher taxes are our public servants who give themselves a cost of living raise each year while the income of the poor and elderly remain the same.

Last Saturday afternoon, in Washington, D.C., an aide to Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi visited the Bishop of the Catholic cathedral in D.C.
He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next day’s Mass, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint.

As Pelosi’s aide promised, Nancy Pelosi appeared for the Sunday worship and seated herself prominently at the forward left side of the center aisle. As promised, at the start of his sermon, the Cardinal pointed out that Pelosi was present.
The Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation, “While Nancy Pelosi’s presence is probably an honor to some, the woman is not numbered among my personal favorite personages. Some of her most egregious views are contrary to tenets of the Church, and she tends to flip- flop on many other issues. Nancy Pelosi is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite & a nit-wit.

Wasserman-Schultz has the hubris to call the actions of the Republicans dictatorial, when in fact the Democrats are trying to hide their own attempt at complete seizure of power by hurling such accusations. He was elected legaly but is illegal to be our president and the people that certifed him knew it so that makes them criminals and they should be prosicuted as such. what has happened and is still on going tells me that there is too many crooks in the federal government and also in the state governments. There was too much voter fraud in the states and nothing has been done that will insure no or very little voter fraud in the next election if we have one. Every one voting in any state should have a voter registor card and have to vote where registered. I would prefer a voter card with picture id. The person registering to vote should have to have proff of being a citizen of the u.s.The person running for any office in state for any office in the fed government should show a vakid b.c. if for notying else just in a show of good faith. Any person running for president should have to show a valid birth certificant and be investigated by congress before being put on the poles to be elected in each state. That would put a stop to the bull shit we have been enduring for the past 2 1/2 years. The demos have hollered that it would make it harder for the minority voters to vote but only if they are illegal,if they had to have a photo id and that is what the purpose of the photo id is. To help stop the voter frau The states also need to clean up the voter register rolls,delete the dead and the people that have moved. these people need to do some thing besides primp and file their finger nails. I believe Obama will invoke the 14th amendment as Bill Clinton suggested, thereby paving the way for impeachment. The only hope for the Democratic party is to produce a candidate replacing Obama in the 2012 election. If they fail to do this, the two party system is in jeopardy.

I read an article from a senator that if Obama uses the 14th ammendment he could be impeached for doing so. I don’t know one way or the other but to always blame someone else is the problem It is the democrats that have no plan and Obama and all his wisdom dropped the problem on Reid and of course now nothing is being done. His own party said NO this is just one joke after another. But very interested about the 14th amm. and how this could all come out and if he in deed will use it. Plus the hispanics want him to use it for immigrations purposes and he said no. But he may just use it for everything and let things fall where they may.
