With the next presidential election cycle nearly three years away, speculation has already begun regarding the potential bank of candidates. Many Democrats stand firmly behind Hillary Clinton, while support among Republicans – especially conservatives – remains largely divided.
The upcoming Western Conservative Conference, to be held Feb. 21 & 22 at the Phoenix Convention Center, will gauge public opinion with one of the first major straw polls of the 2016 election season.
Attendees will have an opportunity to express their support for a particular candidate, with the Western Center for Journalism taking the lead in publishing and disseminating the results to a wide and engaged audience.
Though not scientific, straw polls have long been used as a way to measure early interest in potential presidential hopefuls and have been known to influence the trajectory of Presidential campaigns and candidacies. Since the rise of the Tea Party in response to leftist tyranny, legitimate conservative candidates have had the opportunity to appeal to voters directly. By taking part in this important poll, conference attendees will be able to send a clear message to those considering throwing their respective hats in ring.
While the straw poll will give those present a prominent voice by signaling the current sentiment of likely right-wing voters, the rest of the conference will give them a unique insight into the direction of the conservative movement.
Speakers will include former presidential candidate Herman Cain, rock legend Ted Nugent, talk radio icon Neal Boortz, martial artist-turned-lawman Steven Seagal, and a number of prominent conservative legislators. Additionally, a roast of “America’s toughest sheriff,” Joe Arpaio, will provide ample levity.
Breakout sessions will feature experts leading discussions on an array of current issues including media bias, tax reform, immigration, national security, and the scandal-plagued Obama administration.
Tickets are still available for this unique opportunity to meet and hear from some of the most influential conservatives of our time. For more information, visit WesternConservative.org.
