In the wake of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on ObamaCare, talking heads on both sides of the debate agree that the decision will likely rally conservative voters while doing little to excite liberals.
While that’s unarguably bad news for the incumbent candidate, it’s hardly the first stumbling block Obama has encountered on the campaign trail.
Early reports of a $1 billion war chest have been scrapped, with the president and White House staffers complaining of their inability to raise funds at the same rate as Mitt Romney.
Sending fundraising emails to supporters is one thing; I would even consider it an understandable use of resources. A true testament to his paltry fundraising effort, though, is the unimaginably lowbrow call the administration made recently for those celebrating a wedding or other special event to ask attendees to donate to the Obama campaign rather than bring gifts.
“Instead of another gift card you’ll forget to use, ask your friends and family for something that will go a little further: a donation to Obama for America,” the so-called Obama Event Registry states.
With the suffering this man has caused so many working Americans, I can’t imagine most people living paycheck-to-paycheck would “forget to use” a gift card of any denomination.
Although asking your loved ones to make a donation to any cause robs them of the joy associated with selecting a personal gift for your special day, I would completely support someone’s desire to help fund a charity important to him or her. Supporting a divisive, arrogant president’s bid to milk any remaining money from his fledgling group of allies is an altogether different proposition.
Trying to siphon off funds from a girl’s quinceanera should be far below anything the most powerful man in the world would consider. Once again, though, Obama shows there is no depth to which he will not stoop.
Leave it to a Wisconsin native to offer a postmortem response to this asinine fundraising ploy. Reports indicate that his obituary included his family’s request that any gifts be made in the form of donations sent to “anybody who is running against President Barack Obama.”
I wouldn’t be surprised if this unorthodox method of political action raises more money than Obama’s recent effort.

Can you imagine this happening. He is living the high life and has expensive vacations and is jetting around the country or world almost everyday. Maybe if he had spent more time behind his desk, we might be better off but come to think of it, would probably be worse off. And asking kids are just getting married to ask for a donation to him instead of gifts, which they could probably use just starting off. He is insane and I sometimes wonder who puts him up to these things and whether anyone has the balls to say it to his face how stupid these stunts are.
