Democrats as a whole have commended President Obama’s budget proposal for 2013, but in a few telling instances, members of the president’s party are seeking a bit of distance.
Those Democrats tend to come from red states where the president’s poll numbers are underwater, and their critique of Obama’s plan — or their choice to stay silent — could foretell reelection races where Democrats will run away from the president in the fall.
Obama on Monday unveiled a $3.8 trillion budget that Republicans claim is far too bloated. It calls for increased revenues but also targeted tax cuts, cutting spending in areas like defense while upping the dollars going to transportation and other projects.
White House officials predict the annual deficit will fall from $1.33 trillion in 2012 to $901 billion in 2013, but Republicans — and some Democrats — argue that isn’t nearly enough.
It is highly unlikely the budget will be implemented in anything like the form Obama presented, but the proposal symbolizes Obama’s economic priorities heading into the last year of his first term — and his bid for reelection.

Budget? THIS is no budget, it is a permission slip to spend more, again! If I ran my household affairs this way, I’d already be out on the street and begging for pennies! This half and half peice of garbage only knows one thing about money, how to spend. And spend more and then more……congress is useless, our representitives are worse than useless, so I think we are pretty much screwed. Unless we can find our own balls and do something about the whole thing. We have lost our way, our morals, and certianly our gumption, along with our true pride in America, and what she has always been and stood for. And, anybody who calls themselves a “Conservative” these days only gets shouted down, and called every name in the book, along with “Bible Thumper”, by saying that he or she is coservative. George Washington once said that the perfect man for the job of president would be someone who does not want the job! History, folks, history. Anyone who is fighting tooth and nail to get this hateful, thankless job, probably isn’t anyone who could, or would fix our huge, ginormous problems. And if push came to shove in defense of this country, how many of us would stand up and be counted, be willing to give our own lives for her? In truth, how many? Or is it all words and posturing? I beleive, that unless something drastic is done, and soon, it may well come down to that question.
