Congress Sees Mass Exodus Of ObamaCare Supporters

Conservative Calendar Cobra Obamacare SC

As ObamaCare continues to devolve into a boondoggle of historic proportions, many of its earliest supporters are racing to distance themselves from the unpopular law. For some – especially the legislators responsible for pushing it through Congress – apparently find it more advantageous to simply resign rather than face increased scrutiny for their misplaced allegiance.

As the Daily Caller recently pointed out, nearly half of the Democrat lawmakers depicted as enthusiastic onlookers in a promotional picture of Obama signing the law in 2010 are now either out of Congress or waiting for their final term to expire.

A total of seven legislators in that photo have announced their retirement in the intervening years. Most recently, Michigan Rep. John Dingell announced he would be retiring by the year’s end after 58 years in the chamber.

“I don’t want people to say I stayed too long,” said the octogenarian upon announcing his decision. After nearly six decades in elected office, however, it is amid the widespread backlash against ObamaCare that he chose to step down.

Barack Obama likely compounded the damage by announcing Dingell’s most important contribution throughout his career was support of the detrimental healthcare law.

He was far from the only Democrat to make such a bold decision, though. Legislators including Tom Harkin, Chris Dodd, Patrick Kennedy, Henry Waxman, George Miller, and Max Baucus have all announced their retirement from Congress since enthusiastically backing ObamaCare.

Voicing support for the law anywhere but within the bluest of districts is now tantamount to political suicide. Democrat candidates across the nation are proudly declaring they have no need for Obama’s support on the campaign trail.

Despite the best efforts of this administration’s spin team – aided by the partisan holdouts in the mainstream media – it is clear to millions of Americans that this law was rushed through Congress and is riddled with untenable mandates that will destroy this nation’s economy. For that reason, citizens are holding to account those legislators who rammed the law through Congress sight unseen.

Instead of attempting the impossible by explaining their decision, more and more now seem to believe resigning is their only remaining course of action.

  1. 0bamacare started as a brain fart….now, 0bamacare is a turd.

    • George Rockwell says:

That RULED! I just hope that this 'turd' of historic proportions will finally root all the America hating scumbags, Nazi Lugosi AND her Botox, Schuma, and that rat bastard fraudulent "war hero" John McShame! Sorry, but how does one being captured make one a "hero"? No disrespect to Hanoi Hilton veterans but following that logic, every prisoner in American prisons is a "hero". Furthermore, McShame destroyed two aircraft AND an aircraft carrier! As well as graduating 2nd from last in his class in Annapolis! AND reneged on his promise to Bob Dornan to search for POW remains circa '79-'80. What is WRONG with you people in Arizona?! Flush this traitorous 'fortunate son' turd, NOW!

  2. it is a pity they are resigning. with them resigning means that there will be another democrat on the ticket.

  3. The rats are deserting the ship!

  4. Edwardkoziol says:

Like any good they know when the ship is sinking but the trouble is you get some stupid rat ass democraps to its place.By dumb rats I'm thinking Bite Me Biden, Hatchet Face Sebelius,Slimy Jay Carney,Silverback James Clyburn and his daughter Steak and there are others.

  5. Sic Semper Tyrannis says:

These guys are "retiring", so they can now be rewarded by Insurance companies with multimillion dollar lobbying salaries on "K" Street or multimillion dollar salaries with seats on the Board of Directors of these insurance companies with lucrative stock options and perks to boot. That's how the DC Mafia operates.

  6. MuslimLuvChrist says:

Republicans only need six seats to derail what’s left of the Obama socialist agenda. Meanwhile, the left must defend 20 seats, including seven in states that Obama lost in 2012. Better yet, a host of Democratic incumbents have already thrown in the towel. Why fight another grueling campaign when you could retire to fat pensions and lobbying contracts? But not every race will be so easy. So how will some other important swing states vote come election season. Totals are added from 4/2013 results:
Alaska: Anti-Obama sentiment will likely be Begich’s undoing. Plus, several strong Republican candidates are vying for the primary, including 2008 GOP Senate nominee and Tea Party favorite, Joe Miller; Lt. Governor Mead Treadwell; and Alaska Natural Resources Commissioner Dan Sullivan.
Early prognosis: The Republicans pick up this seat (+1 same).
Arkansas: obama received just 36.9% of the vote in 2012. Obama’s low approval rating will likely bring down Democratic Senator Mark Pryor. Pryor voted for Obamacare, which is extremely unpopular. Rep. Tom Cotton, a rising conservative star, will be a formidable challenger to Pryor. Cotton is an Iraq War veteran and a favorite of conservative groups including Club for Growth.
Early prognosis: The Republicans pick up a seat (+1). (+1 to +2)
Iowa: Senator Tom Harkin is finally retiring. The competitors include former U.S. Attorney Matt Whitaker, a former Chief of Staff to Sen. Chuck Grassley named David Young, State Senator Joni Ernst, and conservative radio host Sam Clovis. On top of that, the former CEO of Reliant Energy, Mark Jacobs, is preparing to enter the race, along with well-known pro-life leader Bob Vander Plaats.
Early prognosis: Republican infighting settles down, and the GOP rides Obama fatigue to victory (+1). (+1 to +3)
Louisiana: Dem. Senator Mary Landrieu was re-elected with 52% of the vote in 2008. The challenger preferred by the GOP establishment is Rep. Bill Cassidy. He will face a tough race from Rob Maness, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel and Tea Party favorite, in the Republican primary.
Early prognosis: The Republicans pick up a seat (+1). (+1 to +4)
Michigan: Detroit’s insolvency, the state has turned to the GOP for fiscal answers. Dem. Senator Carl Levin has decided to retire. Rep. Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land has taken a commanding, eight-point lead in the latest poll of Michigan voters.
Early prognosis: Between Detroit’s bankruptcy and a strong Republican candidate, the GOP gets another seat (+1 same).
North Carolina: Dem. Senator Kay Hagan rode Obama’s coattails into office in 2008 and defeated incumbent Senator Elizabeth Dole. Every poll has Hagan below 50%.
Early prognosis: The GOP should easily win here (+1 same).
South Dakota: Dem. Senator Tim Johnson to tuck tail and retire. Popular two-term Republican Gov. Mike Rounds has announced his intention to run.
Early prognosis: The Republicans will only lose this one if they really screw up (+1 same).
West Virginia: Dem. Senator Jay Rockefeller decided not to run for re-election. Obama lost this state twice because of his stands against increasing coal-generated electricity, and he remains unpopular. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito is running, and very early opinion polls give her a lead.
Early prognosis: This seat is likely Republican (+1)
    From April 2013 to Jan 2014 (+4 to +8)
So there you have it. Eight states that could see a decidedly Republican shift in the 2014 elections. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on these important races as the primaries get closer. This article first ran in April 2013 picking up 4 of the 8 contested seats. Now in January 2014 we went from picking up 4 seats to 8 of 8 contested seats. Thank you her Obhitler und her ReidiculousO’sBitch. You can both take pens and phones und gestuffen dein arschs!

  7. Any one who voted for Obamacare should be voted out! If they are not up for reelection in 2014, vote them out when their reelection comes due!! We must not let these TRAITORS get away with this BS! VOTE THEM ALL OUT!
