Last night, former President Bill Clinton claimed that President Obama had not gutted welfare reform. Clinton proclaimed that Obama would actually strengthen welfare reform by urging states to increase the number of people moving “from welfare to work” by 20 percent.
What is Obama really doing? In July, the Obama Administration illegally declared that it would waive all the work requirements in the 1996 welfare reform law. State welfare bureaucracies will no longer be obligated to obey the federal work requirements written in that law.
The Obama Administration will put in mothballs the formal purpose of welfare reform—to reduce the number of people dependent on government benefits. The Administration will abandon the legislative performance goal that encourages states to reduce welfare caseloads. It will weaken the “work participation” standards that require some 30 percent of able-bodied Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients to engage in work activities for 20 to 30 hours per week.
Even worse, the Obama Administration will “waive compliance” with those work participation standards entirely and replace them with alternative standards designed unilaterally by Health and Human Services (HHS) bureaucrats without congressional input or approval. It will encourage states to use those new standards “in lieu of” the work requirements written in the statute. In other words, HHS explicitly plans to jettison the work requirements provided in the law and replace them with an alternative reform model.
What is that new model of reform? HHS asserts that states will be exempted from work “participation rate requirements” (requiring welfare recipients to engage in work activities) if they raise the number of individuals leaving welfare for work (called “employment exits”) by 20 percent. Clinton defended this by saying, “The requirement was for more work, not less.”

My mother had a neighbor who "rented" the house next door with Section 8 housing subsidy. Last known, she had "rented" the house for at least 10 years. Obviously on welfare, she had a baby EVERY year. Last count, she had just had her 11th child.
My parents purchased the house in 1969. The neighborhood was beautiful. We kept up my mothers property while this "neighbor" on welfare didn't hers. She never has to apply for work. She has a "man friend" who lives with her. Her children have been caught burglarizing other homes in the neighborhood.
When the shootings started, we moved my mother out.
I watched my childhood neighborhood go from a friendly, decent, safe, diverse neighborhood to a ghetto.
This was in the suburbs of Chicago during the time Obama was a Senator.
We need to reign in entitlement spending.
Same here when we go back to the city I grew up in and see my neighborhood and what's it become I get pissed.My parents and all the people who are now dead would roll over in their graves to see what these lowlife spics did to the hill I lived.Some of the people I know that still live their are scared to death but they tell me Ed at my age where am I going to go.
You know, the bad part about it isn't peoples skin color, it's their actions. The problem is the majority of illegal aliens are mexican. Fact. They force their way in and nothing is done. Then you get all the welfare recipients. Black/White doesn't matter. It's not theirs, they don't care. Fact.
This is what has destroyed our economy and neighborhoods. Old established neighborhoods where our elders live. They should NOT have to live their golden years in fear because they didn't know the home they built would end up in a destroyed neighborhood.

I live in the Myrtle Beach area where they had Harley Week followed by black biker week Harley week brought in lots of money but the other just brought trouble I'll explain in an email to you, the point I'm trying to make is vendors for both events have to buy a license to sell but the illegals hold soccer games on public fields and the vendors there sell sheep, chickens and everything under the sun with no licenses and nobody does anything to stop them.Helour police force are scared to go in to the illegals trailer parks for fear of being killed.
Towns on the "Southside" of Chicago have the same thing. Vendors on the street without sinks or licenses.
When I find one, I take a picture and go STRAIGHT to the city hall of that town. I then make sure this info finds it's way into the media.
If nothing is done, I go to the Dept. of Health. They HAVE to do something about it.
