Breaking: Obama Admin Carried Out Failed Rescue Attempt Of Beheaded American Journalist

According to a Twitter post by the Wall Street Journal, U.S. officials confirm that a number of American citizens – including the New Hampshire journalist recently beheaded by Islamic terrorists – were the subject of a rescue mission this summer.

As Western Journalism reported, Rochester native James Foley was working on a freelance assignment in Syria when he went missing earlier this year. In a graphic video released Tuesday, terrorists purportedly affiliated with the organization Islamic State – or ISIS – are seen slicing Foley’s throat after he recited an apparently coerced statement blaming the U.S. for its war crimes in the Middle East.

At the end of the video, another individual, identified as American journalist Steven Sotloff, was filmed along with the warning that he could be the terrorists’ next victim.

There is no indication at this time that Sotloff was among the citizens special forces troops attempted to rescue from the region earlier this year.

ABC News cites a senior Obama administration official who confirmed the rescue mission was unsuccessful due to the fact that, upon special forces’ arrival, the hostages were no longer where intelligence reports indicated they would be.
