More than four years after Army Maj. Nidal Hasan killed 13 and injured dozens more during a terrorist attack at the base, reports are surfacing of another shooting at Fort Hood in Texas.
An Army spokesperson confirmed the shooting Wednesday afternoon, though a precise number of injuries is not yet available.
According to early reports, the incident appears to have happened within the Medical Brigade Building with the possibility of additional victims at the base’s Battle Simulation Center.
Fort Hood is on lockdown as of this writing with the shooter potentially still at large. A Twitter update from the base indicated personnel have been asked to seek shelter.
All personnel on post are asked to shelter in place.

In recent days, the FBI announced investigators were searching for an individual or individuals possibly planning an attack inspired by Hasan’s murderous rampage. That report suggested the likely target would be in or around Kansas City, Mo., however, and there is no evidence at this point that the two incidents are related.
The Western Center for Journalism will have more details as they become available.
