Throughout his trial, George Zimmerman was portrayed as a racist murderer by a media eager to castigate him as the embodiment of American evil. Despite the fact that a jury of his peers acquitted him for the shooting death of black teen Trayvon Martin, the race-obsessed mainstream media continue to stoke hatred toward the Hispanic man – and somehow the white community, as well.
Zimmerman has tried to move on with his life, remaining in the public eye by releasing original artwork and recently announcing his desire to face off against an opponent in a boxing ring.
This week, DMX – a rapper with a lengthy criminal history of his own – revealed that he will gladly square off against Zimmerman. Of course, he said he would be doing so for “every black person who has been done wrong in the system.”
In his confirmation of the upcoming bout, the rapper described what he plans to do to Zimmerman in his typically profane vernacular.
He said he will “beat the living f*** out of him,” offering his promise that he will be “breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f*** him right up.”
The match, while obviously not a professionally sanction event, is being planned with Zimmerman’s safety in mind. Only 100 individuals will be allowed to view the bout in person, and the event’s location is being kept under wraps. Everyone else interested in seeing the fight will have to pay to view it online.
DMX’s vulgar promise, however, suggests Zimmerman might still face physical danger. Though boxers must be prepared to sustain injuries, this rapper – whose lyrics and personal behavior advocate outrageous violence – will apparently not be bound by any safety regulations.
Zimmerman is an easy target for minorities looking for someone to blame for the problems in their community. In reality, though, facts support his contention that Martin was savagely beating him prior to the shooting. DMX – and likely a majority of those tuning in to watch the fight – is willing to ignore such evidence in the advancement of a flawed view of America as a nation dominated by white racists.
One wonders what the reaction might be if Zimmerman likewise fights dirty – and wins.
