The battle for the survival of the Catholic Church in America is heating up, and the faculty at the formerly Catholic University of Notre Dame has lined up on the side of those who would keep Roman Catholic Bishops from teaching Church doctrine.
On April 14, Daniel Jenky, the Catholic Bishop of Peoria Illinois, delivered a homily that has stirred the resentment of Americans for Separation of Church and State, (ASCS) a rabidly leftist group who would extinguish 1st Amendment freedom of speech rights for Catholic priests.
Not content to merely complain about Bishop Jenky’s comparison of Barack Obama to Hitler and Stalin, ASCS has asked the Internal Revenue Service to take away the Diocese Peoria’s tax exempt status.
Speaking in his own church, Bishop Jenky said, “Hitler and Stalin, at their better moments, would just barely tolerate some churches remaining open, but would not tolerate any competition with the state in education, social services, and health care. In clear violation of our First Amendment rights, Barack Obama – with his radical, pro-abortion and extreme secularist agenda, now seems intent on following a similar path…. This fall, every practicing Catholic must vote, and must vote their Catholic consciences, or by the following fall our Catholic schools, our Catholic hospitals, our Catholic Newman Centers, all our public ministries — only excepting our church buildings – could easily be shut down.”
That such blunt truths would infuriate those in the ASCS is a given because by definition, the American Left hates our Constitution for the individual freedoms it provides. Nevertheless, what happened next underscores the very sad state of affairs at the once Catholic University of Notre Dame.
A group of fifty five faculty members have signed a letter asking the school’s president, Father John Jenkins (who gave Obama an honorary Law degree and had peaceful protestors including priests arrested), to remove Bishop Jenky from the University’s Board of Fellows. Moreover, the letter (which referred Bishop Jenky as “Jenky”) requests a public apology from the Bishop as the only way he could remain as a university Board of Fellows member.
Lining up with Americans for Separation of Church and State against a Catholic Bishop is a new low, even for Notre Dame. One can only hope this once great school can one day cleanse itself of the stink of Barack Obama it so willingly wallows in.

Apparently Notre Dame is not exempt of the mindless leftist socialists/marxists. Fifty five faculty members proves this point. Shame, Shame, Shame.
These people are not Catholics. They are catholics in name only. To be a real Catholic, means full communion with Rome, and obedience to the Churches teaching. These people Catholic? Absolutely not. I pray for their souls.
I agree with this Priest they are criticizing. Obama is surely trying hard to act like Hitler and Stalin. He believes in killing babies and old folks. I wonder if Notre Dame can survive all this?? May the Lord have mercy on this country and this school.
He needs to remember he is no spring chicken, himself, but of course the same does not apply to the King.
Catholics have been brain-washed by Obama too. They are like sheep and follow right off the cliff. It is too bad they can't think for themselves and figure out what is going on. They don't want to see what is down the road and that we won't have any rights left . It will be concentration camps and indoctrination except for the elitist few. Anyone who can’t see the obvious similarities between Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Barack Obama is deaf, dumb and blind. I would ask their local Election Board to declare them not eligible to vote.

I wholeheartedly agree with the Bishop and those who disagree are NOT Catholics. Obama has no right to insert his tactics onto any religion, so as to divide and conquer. ALL religions MUST stand up and push back at Obama and his administration. Also, regarding separation of Church and State is Our Constitution explained that there is NO ONE religion authorized by the government. It was never meant to be interpreted that parochial schools could not receive public funds, etc. The politicians, as usual, bastardized the definition.
No practicing Catholic would defend Obummer against the Bishop Jenky! Obummer is more despicable than even Bishop Jenky said. He is a liar, a traitor to our armed forcess and to the United States of America and should be imprisoned. The biggest lie is that he is Christian!
I also have a question about his orders to kill Bin Laden. Why not bring him back alive so we could further question him? That is what any AMERICAN President would have done. Wonder if he wanted him dead for other reasons. Who knows how deep in doo doo Obummer really is.
We don't want to go to war in our own country, and we are not sheep. Give Ron Paul a chance. We have the delegates and the people behind them. Let's do this legally. Impeaching or arresting him is legal also I should add.
