The Scandal That Will Bring Obama Down

Barack Obama 6 SC The Scandal That Will Bring Obama Down

It’s even worse than we previously thought. A retired four-star admiral is now claiming that Barack Obama intentionally conspired with America’s enemies to stage a bogus attack and the kidnapping of an American ambassador so he could “negotiate” the release of a “hostage” and bolster his mediocre approval ratings just prior to the election!

The Washington Examiner, quoting retired Four-Star Admiral James Lyons, writes: “the attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi… was the result of a bungled abduction attempt…. the first stage of an international prisoner exchange… that would have ensured the release of Omar Abdel Rahman, the ‘Blind Sheik’…”

But something went horribly wrong with Obama’s “October Surprise.” Although the Obama Administration intentionally gutted security at the consulate prior to the staged kidnapping, former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty disobeyed direct orders to stand down, saved American lives, single-handedly killed scores of attackers…and the attackers, believing that Obama had betrayed them, tortured Ambassador Chris Stevens and dragged his body through the streets.

Some will say that Admiral Lyons’ accusation is not a smoking gun. We agree; that’s exactly why Congress must investigate Benghazi-gate.

Moreover, we firmly believe the problem with Admiral Lyons’ assertion is that he is only scratching the surface; the full and complete truth may be much, much worse.

Benghazi-gate is not about a bogus YouTube video series of lies. It’s not about the Obama Administration’s foreign policy ineptitude. We are dealing with something much more sinister… something potentially treasonous… and the following questions, posed in an article in The New American, go to the heart of the matter:

1.       ”What was the Obama administration’s full role in helping violent Jihadists, self-styled al Qaeda terrorists, and Western-backed “revolutionaries” take over Libya in the first place?

2.       Did that half-baked scheme to arm Jihadist leaders, who… had previously fought U.S. troops in Iraq, contribute to the attack, as countless experts and officials have suggested?

3.       What was actually going on at the compound in Benghazi, which, as the report states, was never a “consulate” despite establishment media claims?

4.       Was Ambassador Stevens recruiting and arming Jihadists and terrorists to wage war on the Syrian regime after what Obama called the “success” in Libya, as a growing body of credible evidence suggests?

5.       Why did the administration claim for so long that the attack was just a “protest” over a YouTube video gone awry, even when it knew definitively that was not the case?

6.       Was the lack of security at the compound a political ploy to conceal the extent of the lawlessness and utter chaos left in the wake of Obama’s unconstitutional “regime change” war on Libya, as even members of Congress have alleged?”

It’s clear. Benghazi-Gate is only a small piece of a much larger operation, an attempt to conceal what The New American calls “the Obama administration’s full role in helping violent Jihadists and self-styled al Qaeda terrorists.”

Prior to the election Barack Obama continually told us that “Osama bin-Laden is dead and GM is alive”; but the sad truth is that Osama bin-Laden’s organization is alive and well, and the Obama Regime may be giving aid and comfort to this terrorist network.

And prior to the election, Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera pontificated that Republicans shouldn’t “politicize” Benghazi-gate. Swaggering onto the set of Fox and Friends, Rivera bloviated: “I think we have to stop this politicizing.” And Rivera issued the following veiled warning to Republicans: “Do we want to try and influence the election with a tragedy that happened in North Africa?”

Ironic, isn’t it? Barack Obama played politics with the lives of Americans; like Rivera, the media covered Obama’s rear and threatened to accuse anyone and everyone who mentioned it of “playing politics.”

Weak-willed Republicans apparently took Rivera’s threat to heart as Rivera also said that Republican Senators John Barrasso, James Inhofe, and Bob Corker, who all sit on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, “all agree that the supercharged atmosphere around the story — prudence dictates that these hearings be postponed until” after the election.

Well, the election has come and gone. Congress now has no excuse. The American people needed the truth before the election; but now that Obama is back in the White House, real conservatives must demand answers.

The American people deserve to have those questions answered; and moreover, the American people deserve justice.

Ronald Reagan’s Timeless Christmas Gift

Ronald Reagan Ronald Reagans Timeless Christmas Gift

“Christmas has always been a very special day for as long back as I can remember,” Ronald Reagan once reminisced, writing in a letter. “Maybe this was due to my mother and her joyous spirit about the day.”

Although President Reagan could have spent his White House Christmases with family at his beloved ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif., he instead stayed in Washington, D.C. This way, his sacrifice allowed Secret Service agents and other aides to spend Christmas at home with their families. He was a thoughtful person.

Reagan grew up in a desperately poor family. His father was a shoe sales clerk who had trouble keeping a job, partly because he was an alcoholic. “There were very few decorated trees in the years of my growing up,” Reagan said when recalling his childhood. “But never defeated, my mother would with ribbon and crepe paper decorate a table or create a cardboard fireplace out of a packing box. And she always remembered whose birthday it was and made sure we knew the meaning of Christmas.”

His mother Nelle was an optimistic Christian woman who always looked for the positive side in every situation. President Reagan explained that no matter how bad things were for their family, his mother was always finding someone worse off than them. Reagan’s most vivid early memory of his mother was of her taking a covered dish to a needy family. Nelle was always gladly helping others.

Perhaps those lean years are one reason why Ronald Reagan once said a particular Christmas gift was especially memorable for him, calling it “a gift truly in keeping with the spirit of the day.” It became his favorite gift. His older brother, Neil, gave it to him after struggling to find a suitable gift for his brother. At the time, they both were middle-aged adults with successful careers.

Neil solved his dilemma by writing a letter. In the letter, Neil told his brother he had found a truly needy family with small children “who wouldn’t go to bed with dreams of Santa Claus in their head.” Ronald Reagan recounted how his brother Neil changed that and “became Santa himself, providing a Christmas from tree to turkey plus toys and gifts for all.” Included in Neil’s letter was a very detailed, blow-by-blow account, describing the “joy of the children and the grateful happiness of their mother.”

This act of charitable giving by Neil reads like the ending of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” thus becoming President Reagan’s most unforgettable Christmas gift. He called it “a gift that will never grow old,” as he enjoyed re-reading the letter and thinking about the family’s reaction to Neil’s generosity.

Helping and serving others gives true joy and happiness, not only to the recipient, but even more so to the giver. Maybe Neil’s gift was particularly touching to Reagan because he knew what it was like to go without.

Today, there are still families out there who are in difficult circumstances, facing a bleak Christmas. A gift like Neil’s may be the perfect gift for you to give to that someone in your life who has everything. Churches or locally-based charities such as the Salvation Army are aware of needy families. You could make a difference and receive special Christmas joy by giving to a family who has hit hard times. Then, write a letter similar to Neil’s describing the family’s reactions, and give it as a gift. This is the true spirit of Christmas.

While speaking to the nation on Christmas Eve 1984, President Reagan said: “families and friends across America will join together in caroling parties and Christmas Eve services. Together,” he said imparting his usual optimism, “we’ll renew that spirit of faith, peace, and giving which has always marked the character of our people.”

At the end of his tale, Dickens writes, “it was always said of [Scrooge], that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May this be said of all of us. And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God bless Us, Every One!”

Merry Christmas!

John Boehner Leads Republicans Into Political Little Big Horn

John Boehner SC John Boehner Leads Republicans into Political Little Big Horn

In June of 1876, near Montana’s Little Big Horn River, five of the Seventh Cavalry’s companies were annihilated with 268 dead.  Lt. Colonel Custer, their leader, was also killed, all at the hands of the Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho Tribes of America’s Great Plains. The Battle of Little Big Horn has been deemed one of the greatest battlefield blunders by an American Commander.

Speaker of the House John Boehner, the highest elected leader of the Republican Party, is headed for a similar annihilation at the hands of Barack Obama. It is a battle brought about by Boehner’s earlier unwillingness to fight a determined and deadly foe. Now John Boehner’s failed leadership may mortally wound the modern Republican Party.

How did we get here? John Boehner, at nearly every critical juncture, has raised the white flag of capitulation.

The first capitulation was not fighting for a permanent extension of the Bush Tax Cuts in 2010. At that time, the Republicans had their greatest political leverage. They had just recaptured the US House and made huge gains in the US Senate. Obama was saddled with 10 percent unemployment and the prospects of an even greater economic downturn if he refused the Republican’s offer. Instead of going for a permanent fix, he accepted an Obama “compromise” of a two year extension.

Speaker Boehner blinked, as he bragged to the Washington Post that the bill was “a good first step.”  It was a good first step toward Obama’s reelection and the defeat of the Republican agenda. This year, after Romney losing and losses of Republican numbers in the House of Representatives, Obama has virtually no incentive to again compromise on tax cuts. He never has to run for re-election again.

The second great capitulation to Obama came in the battle over the debt ceiling. If the Congress had refused to give Obama a blank check of continued spending, we wouldn’t face the fiscal cliff now. By timing the spending cuts/automatic sequestration with the Bush Tax cuts renewal, he single-handedly assured the tax cuts likely wouldn’t be extended.

House Republicans, riding the Tea Party movement, should have refused to increase the debt ceiling. Instead, we now have trillions more in debt, and America’s credit has been downgraded.

Liberals are giddy at the prospects of billions in increased tax revenue and dramatic cuts in discretionary defense spending.  Boehner didn’t even have the foresight to tie entitlement reform to the fiscal cliff.

So now he faces a Little Big Horn of his own making. Taxes will go up, and spending will be cut. And it’s likely Boehner and the Republicans will take all of the blame for the new recession that inevitably will result.

Boehner’s leadership has been so pathetic he hasn’t even attempted to defund Obamacare.

We are sick and tired of Boehner’s cowardice and Republican betrayals. It is time for Boehner to go. The so-called “Republican Leadership” is the problem.

It only took John Boehner a few hours after the Obama’s reelection to proclaim that he was ready to capitulate once more.

Marching in front of the television cameras the next morning, he said, in no uncertain terms, that he was ready, willing, and able to wave the flag of surrender without firing a shot: “Mr. President, this is your moment,” he said. “We want you to lead. Let’s find the common ground that has eluded us.”

Hours later, Barack Obama marched in front of the television cameras as well with a message of his own, a message he has already delivered far too many times: I’m moving hard to the left. I’m going to bring the United States to its knees, and if Republicans cooperate… that’s ‘compromise.’

That’s not leadership, Mr. Boehner, and you’re no leader.  When are you going to learn that you’ll never find “common ground” with this man?  When are you going to realize that Barack Obama doesn’t care that you want him “to lead?” Obama has come to fundamentally change the country.

John Boehner, Please Retire

John Boehner SC John Boehner, Please Retire

It’s clear.  There will be no stopping Obamacare.  There will be no justice on Benghazi-gate.  There will be no stopping Barack Obama’s unconstitutional usurpations and abuses of power as long as John Boehner holds the reins of power as the Republican Speaker of the House.

It’s time for John Boehner to retire. He should let a younger leader, with more will to fight Obama, take leadership in the US House.

The situation is so dire that without new leadership, the Republican Party could actually dissolve into rival factions. He is even considering caving into Barack Obama’s drive for a massive tax increase.  We stand on the precipice of a total capitulation of the Republican agenda by Speaker Boehner.

We need real leaders to challenge Obama. As long as John Boehner remains Speaker of the House, Obamacare will remain the law of the land.

Back on July 1, 2012, just four short months ago, Boehner marched in front of the cameras on “Meet the Press” and vowed to do whatever it takes to stop Obamacare. Practically thumping his chest, he said: “It has to be ripped out by its roots.” And he added: “We will not flinch from our resolve to make sure this law is repealed in its entirety.”

Taking him at his word, 127 members of the House, led by Representatives Jim Jordan and Michele Bachmann, reminded Mr. Boehner that he had the ability to actually keep that promise and signed off on a letter asking Boehner to take the lead and allow the House of Representatives to finally wield its legitimate and constitutionally-granted power of the purse to “rescind all Obamacare implementation funds.”

Don’t be deceived by anything you hear on the nightly news; the sad and simple truth is that John Boehner and House Republicans already had – and still have – the power to stop the implementation of Obamacare.

They had that power from the very day that Republicans gained control of the House of Representatives back in January of 2011, and they have that power at this very moment.

Mr. Boehner simply needs to hold a simple up-or-down vote in the GOP-controlled House of Representatives to deny Obamacare funding, and Barack Obama and Harry Reid can’t do anything to stop it. It really is that simple.

The problem is not that Republicans can’t stop the implementation of Obamacare. The problem is that the so-called GOP Leadership won’t stop Obamacare, and that’s why we need a change in leadership.

So what’s Boehner’s excuse?

Boehner apparently has his reasons. We call them excuses. His surrogates argued that Boehner’s refusal to fund Obamacare could set the stage for Barack Obama to exact his revenge by ordering a “government shutdown” and blame it on Republicans.

We say let Mr. Obama take his best shot. At some point, the rubber has got to meet the road.

We don’t need to concede defeat. A “government shutdown” is not only not as bad as you’ve been lead to believe; it’s also the last thing Barack Obama wants. It puts a stop to Obama’s out-of-control spending.

What we need is a true leader at the helm who is not afraid to call Barack Obama’s bluff and negotiate from a position of strength, and that man is not John Boehner.
