Duck Dynasty’s John Luke Robertson Couldn’t Get His Fiancee To Date Him, Until He Did This One Thing

"Duck Dynasty's" John Luke Robertson and his fiancee Mary Kate McEacharn.

After years spent trying to convince her to give him the time of day, Duck Dynasty star John Luke Robertson is now happily engaged to Mary Kate McEacharn.

The lovebirds met four years ago at a Christian summer camp, and although Robertson, eldest son of Willie and Korie Robertson, sensed chemistry between them, he spent the next few years pursuing McEacharn before she agreed to give him a chance.

“I had tried to date her before, and she kept turning me down!” Robertson told US Weekly. “I just kept at it and she finally said yes!”

Robertson finally won her over once he started to talk about Jesus.

“She never gave me the time of day until I started talking about Jesus,” the lovestruck Robertson said. “That was the only thing we could ever talk about. And I knew then that she was a good one, because she would help me grow in my faith… And she was pretty good looking!”

Robertson said he had a sense from the beginning that there was something special about her. He told US Weekly, “I just knew.”

He chose to ask her the big question by creating a photo album with pictures going back from when they met at camp four years before. By using his 19th birthday party as a ruse, McEacharn was led to believe she was just coming to the party early to spend some quality time with him.

When the couple got to the last two pages of the album, Robertson had a note written: “Love you so much… We’ve had so many adventures with each other, and I can’t wait for the rest of our lives.” After flipping to the final page, she saw a picture of the ring.

“She looked up at me, and when she looked up, I had the ring in my hand,” Robertson told US. “I said, ‘Mary Kate McEacharn, will you marry me?’ And she started crying.”

Although McEacharn knew he was crazy about her, the proposal still came as a shock to her.

“I honestly had no idea,” she said. “We were just going through the book and having a great time laughing and looking at the pictures… I think I went into a stage of shock. I was just like, ‘Is this for real?’ He was like, ‘Yeah.’”

Of course, she is over the moon with joy at the prospect of becoming Mrs. John Luke Robertson.

“I had always prayed God would bring a Christian boy into my life,” 18-year-old McEacharn, a Louisiana Tech freshman, told US. “When John Luke came into the picture, I figured God had placed him there. He’s an awesome man of God. He’s really funny, you never know what’s going to happen with him. He’s full of surprises. Plus, he’s pretty cute.”

The couple started dating earlier this year, in March, and Robertson proposed on Saturday, October 11.

When it came to their parents, Robertson’s mom and dad were elated, and although it took Mr. McEacharn a little more convincing, “after an interrogation, he was thrilled!” Robertson explained on his blog.

Although a date has not officially been set quite yet, the newly engaged couple are excited as they plan for their future together, alongside their supportive families, of course.

Watch Megyn Kelly And Bill O’Reilly Discuss White Privilege And Its Effects In A Heated Debate

Megyn Kelly and Bill O'Reilly Play Button

Monday night’s “The O’Reilly Factor” featured a dialogue between Bill O’Reilly and Megyn Kelly on the hot button issue of white privilege.

Kelly, when asked if she believes in the white privilege theory, said there is “a lot of evidence behind it,” and added the statistics are “alarming”:

“Black unemployment rate in Ferguson is three times the white unemployment rate,” Kelly began. “Black men between the ages of 16 and 24 have an almost 50% unemployment rate, for whites it’s 16%. In the United States, a black child is almost four times as likely to live in a poor neighborhood as a white child is. Twenty percent of white kids are in single parent homes, 52% of black kids are. The incarceration rate is six time higher for blacks than it is for whites.

“There is segregated housing in Ferguson, there’s underperforming schools, both of those correlate strongly with low prospects in life. And this area, St. Louis, has a noticeably disadvantaged situation when it comes to folks who are born poor, getting out of poverty over the course of their life. Places like Seattle? You’ve got a real shot at it. Places like St. Louis? Not so much.”

While O’Reilly accepted her reasoning, he had a different approach to the issue:

“The Asian American community is not a troubled situation. As everybody knows, their academics are better than whites, they have language to overcome, while black Americans don’t,” he said. “It all comes down to families, culture, personal responsibility — all of these things which we don’t hear anything or much about and this is what drives the poverty.”

Kelly didn’t back down from her point of view, unsure that O’Reilly was fully understanding her perspective:

“It’s not just families or culture,” Kelly replied. ”Look at that stat about the black children four times as likely to live in poor neighborhoods as white children, and in the St. Louis area there is documented white flight. The blacks, as they move out to these white suburbs like Ferguson, the whites take off, these become black neighborhoods. The schools they get forgotten and the black population feels forgotten, Bill.

“That’s why they feel resentful. They don’t believe the justice system is going to give them a fair shake. They don’t believe the economic system is going to give them a fair shake. President Obama made all sorts of promises that didn’t come true. Their Democratic governor in Missouri made all sorts of promises that didn’t come true. They have very few people to trust.”

O’Reilly closed the segment telling Kelly he agreed with her statements, adding that nothing in this country will improve until the culture changes. In essence, if there is to be an improvement, a new mindset must be implemented. If there is to be a change in one’s situation, steps must be taken to attain a better life for one’s self.

Six-Year-Old Boy Gets Run Over But Left Unharmed

Boy gets run over but is left unharmed

A six-year-old boy was run over by an absent minded driver in China, surveillance footage uploaded this weekend shows.

Once the SUV passed by, the child immediately stood up and marched away, holding his back – which must’ve been scraped during the incident. His emergence from the terrifying scene, miraculously unharmed, has left many people wondering how he could have possibly survived.

According to local authorities, the boy was very likely spared from serious harm due to his being between the front wheels–and the chassis that was positioned fairly high.

BBC reports that the event took place in China’s Shandong Province on Wednesday.

Awesome: These 200 Hollywood Stars Just Made A Bold Statement That Will Drive Liberals Crazy

Nearly 200 Hollywood elite and executives have rallied together in support of Israel. Signing their names on a statement denouncing Hamas, they posted their declaration on the Creative Community for Peace website.

Among the actors championing this statement are Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Dave Feldman, and Sarah Silverman. The complete list can be seen below, via Creative Community for Peace:

Hollywood for Israel

Their statement explains their grief regarding the tragic loss of life in the deadly fight between Israel and Palestine as well as their hope for peace to eventually make it’s way to Gaza.

“While we stand firm in our commitment to peace and justice, we must also stand firm against ideologies of hatred and genocide which are reflected in Hamas’ charter, Article 7 of which reads, ‘There is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him!’ The son of a Hamas founder has also commented about the true nature of Hamas.

“Hamas cannot be allowed to rain rockets on Israeli cities, nor can it be allowed to hold its own people hostage. Hospitals are for healing, not for hiding weapons. Schools are for learning, not for launching missiles. Children are our hope, not our human shields.

“We join together in support of the democratic values we all cherish and in the hope that the healing and transformative power of the arts can be used to build bridges of peace.”

While these stars may not be on the same political page nor share the same thoughts on how to best “build bridges of peace,” there are many others in Hollywood who still support Hamas, the terrorist organization that uses its citizens as human shields and launches rockets to afflict their unoffending neighbors. It’s encouraging to see these pro-Israel stars form an alliance in defense of Israel, the only free society in the Middle East, as IJReview points out.

The Creative Community for Peace was launched by David Renzer, former chairman of Universal music publishing and now the head of a music publishing company, Spirit Music Group.

Via talent representative David Lonner on Deadline:

“When you talk to artists like Javier Bardem and Pedro Almodovar, you have to think, ‘Where do you think your movies are being watched in the Middle East?’ They can’t be watched anywhere else but in Israel. When you are on the ground, you realize that you are in a very free and progressive society, and it’s a region where people can’t pay to see the product that we’re making other than in Israel.”

Watch: Explosive Ferguson Confrontation Between Sean Hannity And A Liberal Politician

Sean Hannity Play Button'

In a heated discussion on “The Hannity Show” Sean Hannity and Patricia Bynes, a Democratic politician in Ferguson, discuss the deeper issues following the death of Michael Brown.

Bynes claims the unrest is not just about Michael Brown but rather about police brutality, racial profiling, and racism.

Hannity begins by questioning Bynes on where she is getting her facts from since she admittedly did not witness the shooting herself.

“Let me educate you, Committeewoman,” Hannity said. “Let me educate you about the legal system in America.”

“I don’t need your kind of education,” Bynes responded.

After much disagreement on whether the Michael Brown shooting is an issue of police brutality or not, Hannity wanted to “educate” her again.

“If he was charging at the police officer, the police officer – by law, that would be defined as justifiable use by force. You are aware of that, right Committeewoman?”

“I am very much aware of that, but there is no way that an unarmed man should have two shots in his head and four in his body. So you keep wanting to talk over the facts.I think you need the education here.”

“If he was charging at the officer,” said Hannity, “and he was only hit in the arm. And if he kept charging after being hit in the arm, the officer would still have the right to defend himself by law. Is that not true, Ma’am?”

“Well, the officer does have the right to defend himself, but two shots to the head? He’s doing too much. I think a logical person can agree to that.”

“But the fact is, you don’t know and I don’t know,” Hannity concluded. “But you are making claims. You should be a better leader for the community and wait until the facts come in.”
