The new movie version of Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina might be a bit stagy for some tastes, but any movie that–a) stars Keira Knightley and b) advances Leo Tolstoy’s worldview–is surely worth watching.
I will leave the story itself to the moviegoer, but in the novel of the same name Tolstoy describes liberalism in terms that are entirely recognizable 140 years later. In the following passages he speaks to the character of Anna’s philandering, self-important brother, Stepan Arkadyevitch, a landau liberal because it suited his life style. Indeed, writes Tolstoy wryly, liberalism had become something of a habit for him, like smoking his cigar, “for the slight fog it diffused in his brain.”

People don't really understand how similar America is to what Russia was.
It's truly history replaying itself. But the Communists through out history and said that it was not necessary. Why worry about the past? Who cares about all the dates and places.
They also got rid of LOGIC and reason. Logic and reason is also part of mathematics. They can't rid it entirely, but they can make the two so disassociated that they may as well have been born in and of themselves, separate from each other. This doesn't take all that many years. America took 200 + years to become an independent nation and she has been so for that long. The powers that be, Britain, won't stand for anymore. The plot thickens. They need to make their moves soon, before Americans create a new uprising. They may not KNOW the history, but they have been more free than others. The people will not stand for more tyranny. They will call it out. So, the Communists know that they have to play a very quick chess game now. So, they better have laid the ground work well, or face defeat once again. Although, I fear that they have paved the way very well this time. TIME will tell and history will be the future.
